Good Things Come In Small Packages~

Like a brand new pack of Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens. He he.

Oh, and babies.

My card~

Small-Things

I used the new pens to color a Mama Elephant Up & Away bunny to accompany a baby gift we’re giving.

A close-up~

Small-Things-Close-1

I love how easy the pens were to blend and how bright and bold the color remains.

Small-Things-Close-2

Wanting to keep the focus on my bunny I placed him on a sheet of DCWV White Embossed paper backed with a coordinating polka dot paper from the DIY Project Stack Flowers.

And now I think I have a few more pens to go play with.

I used~

DCWV White Embossed Stack, DCWV DIY Project Stack Flowers
Mama Elephant Up & Away Stamps & Dies, Surprise Sentiments
My Favorite Things Cross Stitched Circle Dies, Simon Says Stamp Stitched Square Dies
Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens, Wink Of Stella, Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor Cardstock

I Thank My Lucky Stars You’re In My Life~

Here’s the thing about watching coloring videos and making cards with your five year old, they want it to look EXACTLY like the card in the video.

There are NO exceptions.

Unless you can secretly work on part of it while they’re sleeping.

So, that is why my Thank You card for Hartly’s Nursery School teacher looks almost 100% like Nichol Magouirk’s card.

My card~

Thank You

We made this to give to her Nursery School teacher, so it had to be just right.

Which to Hartly meant just like Nichol’s.

A close-up~

Thank You Close

However after seeing the new Mama Elephant Playful Pups stamps in action, she decided she needed to make her own card to give Mrs. Shorter.

Hartly’s card~

Thank You- Hartly

I think her card turned out even better mine.

I used~

Mama Elephant Shooting Star Stamps & Dies, Creative Cuts Stitched Clouds & Moon Dies, Copics, Tim Holtz Distress Ink: Faded Jeans, Peacock Feathers, Mustard Seed, Mowed Lawn and Peeled Paint

Hartly used~

Mama Elephant Playful Pups Stamps & Dies, My Favorite Things Grass Dies, Crayola Markers

Think Pretty Thoughts~

And what’s prettier than unicorns?

I used this card by Jennifer McGuire for my NSD 2015 Challenge: Pin It! to recreate something you’ve pinned on Pinterest.

My card~

Think Pretty

Like Jennifer’s card I water colored the background and used stitched dies to create my blue sky.

Then I colored my unicorns and used pop dots, so they’re flying through the sky.

A close-up~

Think Pretty Close

After all of that I ended up stamping the sentiment crooked. Oh well.

It’s still cute.

Maybe not as cute Hartly’s version.

You’ve Held Onto My Hand For A While~

But now I’m all grown up. Just remember you will always hold on to my heart, forever.

Awww….isn’t that sweet?

It’s also perfect for the card I gave my Mom for Mother’s Day.

My card~

Held My Hand

I used the Mama Elephant Bear Hugs Stamp and Die Set and closely followed Nichol Magourik’s coloring technique from this video.

I wanted to use my card for Erika’s NSD 2015 Challenge: Ready, Set…Emboss Challenge to use any type of embossing on your project.

A close-up~

Held My Hand Close

I simply used one of my long forgotten and a bit dusty Cuttlebug folders on the background paper.

I love the look and dimension embossing gives papers, so I don’t know why I never think to actually do it.

So, a big thank you to Erika for challenge me.

Head over to her blog if you’d like to join in.

I used~

Mama Elephant Bear Hugs Stamps & Dies, Pebbles Jen Hadfield Home Made 6×6 Paper Pad, Cuttlebug Dots Folder, Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles and Copics

Just Meow-zing!!~

I think I’ve mentioned once or twice that Hartly and I are now watching coloring videos at nap and bedtime.

Last week we just so happened to watch Jennifer McGuire’s Copic Dot Coloring video, so it was no surprise that later that evening we had to give it a try.

My card~

Kitty

I really like this technique of adding texture and blending colors, but I do think I need to work on my feathering out colors.

But, that will come with practice and in time.

Mimicking Jennifer’s cards, I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Dies to create a stitched outline on my layers.

This also means I can use my card for Maria’s NSD 2015 Challenge: Leave You In Stitches Challenge to make a project having either real or faux stitching on it.

A close-up~

Would you believe me if I told you Hartly made me order all those My Favorite Things stamps Jennifer used on her card?

She insisted. He he.

Not To Get Carried Away~

But you are kind of amazing.

Just sayin’.

Isn’t that just too cute?

And perfect for both a birthday card and Francine’s NSD 2015 Challenge: Show Your True Colors to make a project using the colors purple and teal.

I decided to break out my new Akashiya Sai Watercolor Brush Pens and give them a try.

Ella in process

Let me just start by saying these cute little Wplus9 elephants are my second attempt, since my first ended up in the trash can.

It seems I’m a bit impatient when it comes to letting paint dry.

I highly recommend watching Kristina Werner’s video here to learn the best way to use these pens.

My card~

Ella

There’s no shame in saying I think I watched her video more than once. He he.

A close-up~

But, it paid off.

I think I’m liking these Brush Pens a tad bit more than the Spectrum Aqua Pens.

For now.

Just sayin’.

Make sure you drop by Francine’s blog for a chance to win a FABULOUS prize!!

Wplus9 Unforgettable Stamp & Die Sets, Akashiya Sai Water Color Brush Pens, Watercolor Paper, Kraft Paper

Marching By To Say Congratulations~

That’s exactly what my little elephant is doing. I needed a little something to go with the DCWV Insta Prize I was sending out.

My tag~

IMG_6969

I started by coloring the adorable Ella from the Mama Elephant Ella & Friends collection.

I knew I wanted to pair her with the bold black and white pattern from the Jen Hadfield Home Made collection, but I also wanted to use the blue from it as well.

It helped to tie in my use of the Recollections decorative straw that held a simple Congratulations sentiment also from the Home Made Paper Pad.

Then I simple added ribbon and sent my little Ella off on her way.

I used~

Pebbles Jen Hadfield Home Made 6×6 Paper Pad, Recollection Straws, Ribbon, Enamel Dots, Copic Markers
Mama Elephant Ella & Friends Stamps & Dies, Mama Elephant Tags A Lot and Peek A Frame Creative Cuts Dies

A Little Love Tucked Away~

Over Spring Break Ashlyn and Holden left the rest of us behind to travel with their classmates to Amsterdam, Paris and London.

Nice, I know.

Originally I was supposed to go with them, but life happens and I had to cancel.

Making this even more difficult was this would be the first time they traveled without any family.

So the night before they left, Hartly and I quickly made little love notes and tucked them into their suitcases to find.

Our love notes~

IMG_6975

We used several Mama Elephant Bear Hugs stamps and dies with the prints from DCWV DIY Project Stack Favor Boxes.

I love how a good pattern paper makes quick work of using my favorite stamps.

A close-up~

The hardest part of our little project was sneaking our notes into their suitcases.

I’m not sure if you know or not, but four year olds are not very quiet. Or covert. He he.

But, we pulled it off.

It was such a treat to get an email from Ashlyn letting us know she found hers and that she loved us too.

Awww…

DCWV DIY Project Stack Favor Boxes
Mama Elephant Bear Hugs Stamps & Dies, Bella Blvd McIntosh Enamel Dots, Ribbon

How Much I Love You~

Can you handle one more bear project from me?

I hope so.

A few weekends ago I spent the entire weekend having the best time with my scrapbooking friends at the Doodle Crew Retreat.

While I was gone my littlest, Hartly,  was extremely concerned she might forget what I looked like.

Thanks Dad!

It seems he tells her that all the time although he sees her several time a week.  Grandparents!

And since I didn’t let her keep the picture she snapped of me while I was in the shower that morning, I made her a card to show her how much I love and missed her.

My card~

Bear Card

I thought the bright colors and bold prints in the Fancy Pants Me-ology collection were perfect to pair with my Mama Elephant Bear Hugs Stamps and Dies.

The inside~

This was also perfect for the Cricut Circle Stashing Thru The Snow Challenge: Pick A Friend.

And my little friend was so happy to receive this card.

She even handed over her Leap Pad to let me make sure she had deleted those shower pictures. Shew!

I used~

A Little Bear Love~

We have TWO big birthdays coming up in our house this week.

So, it was the perfect time to get the new DIY Project Stacks from DCWV.

To see all of them check out the new product reveal videos.

Luckily I got the DIY Project Stack Favor Boxes, since I just happen to need two boxes to hold the perfect gift for two sixteen year olds….cash.

Did you think I was going to say car keys? Ha.

All of the DIY Project Stacks are filled with fabulous patterns, vibrant colors and even templates for various projects.

Since I have the cutting abilities of a four-year old, I used my Brother Scan & Cut to scan the Take Out Box Template.

Scan 1

I cut it out of several of the papers from the stack.

Scan 2

Then it was a simple matter of scoring, gluing and decorating them.

My boxes~

Can you tell I just got a new stamp set from Mama Elephant?

And I’m crazy about the bears in the Bear Hugs set.

So I also made a coordinating card using the patterned papers from the DIY Project Stack Flowers.

My card~

The bright colors and fun patterns made it so easy to stamp and cut my images and quickly assemble my card.

I think that star patterned paper is quickly becoming one of my favorites.

All together~

Okay, I think all of these stacks are quickly becoming my favorites.

Did I mention most of the papers are double-sided? Squeal.
