It’s A Countdown To Christmas~

I didn’t have time to work on my December Daily last night. Aww…

Never fear I’ll catch up tonight. Hopefully…

There is a dishwasher to unload, dirty dishes piled in the sink, five baskets of laundry to fold, one teen girl away on a mission trip and one teen boy sick on the sofa.

That makes today the perfect time to share a recent Christmas Pocket Letter I made for my dear friend and swap partner Elizabeth from the GirlyGirlsAttic.

Instead of a normal Christmas or Winter themed pocket letter I came up with the crazy idea of creating an Advent pocket letter.

Yes, there was a bit of math involved with planning the pockets.

But, I’m rather excited at how it turned out.

December 1st – 8th~

Day 1 (2)

I used mainly Teresa Collins Santa’s List collection with it’s fabulous Santa images, bold prints and fabulous mix of embellishments.

A close-up~

Day 1 close up (2)

Some of the pockets are simple cards while others are scored and folded over.

That Santa in the middle was being quite naughty when I tried to make him.

I lost count on how many attempts it took to get the final one, but I think he makes a great addition to the Countdown.

December 9th-16th~

Day 9 (2)

As you can see some of the pockets are filled with chocolates, others with scrapbooking goodies and some with the story of the birth of Jesus.

I thought Elizabeth would really appreciate that.

December 17th-25th~

Day 17 (2)

It also crossed my mind that she could use this for a simple December Daily afterwards as well.

She could easily slip in small photos, Instax pictures or special memories from each day.

Of course, she’d have to eat all that candy first!

I used~

Teresa Collins Santa’s List Collection, Tim Holtz Stamps and Dies, Embossing Powder, Sequins, Twine, Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher, WRMK Envelope Punch Board

It’s A Good Day To Be Happy~

challenge_graphic-650-october2

Sometimes all you need to be happy is a hug from a friend.

My card~

Bunnies

I used the adorable bunnies from the Mama Elephant Honey Bunny stamp set to create a simple card to send a friend who hasn’t been feeling well.

A close-up~

Hopefully today is a good day for YOU to be happy too.

I used~

Mama Elephant Honey Bunny Stamp & Dies, Up & Away Stamps, Simon Says Stamp Stitched Square Dies, Copics, Glitz Unchartered Waters, Teresa Collins Ebosser

Here Comes The Bride~

And her flower girl~

Hartly Flower Girl

I can not even begin to tell you the excitement and anticipation we all had for Tori and Blake’s big day.

Tori has been with Hartly since she was a newborn.

She has helped shape her into the amazing young lady she is.

So together Hartly and I made Tori a special card to celebrate their wedding.

Our card~

We even dusted off the old Cricut Explore to make our blushing bride.

The shimmer from the DCWV Premium 5 Pack Stack made our bride shine, yet she doesn’t even come close to the sparkle from the real bride.

And her flower girl.

Things have been really quiet here on my blog.

Between a wedding, soccer, volleyball and cross country seasons we’ve been extremely busy.

And there’s also a little thing like a baby on the way.

Now that things are slowing down I hope to be creating and blogging a bit more.

I used~

DCWV Premium 5 Pack Stack, DCWV Gems, Nina Brackett Fanciful Tags, Sizzix Embossing Folder, Cricut Tie The Knot Cartridge and Teresa Collins Ebosser

I Gave A Letter To The Postman~

Actually, I gave several to him.

I joined in a Pocket Letter Swap with several of the ladies from our Cricut Circle Good Morning Facebook Group.

You don’t know what a Pocket Letter is?

Well, neither did I until I visited this Janette Lane’s blog for a perfect description and joined this fabulous Pocket Letter Inspiration and Inspiration Facebook group.

After figuring it all out I jumped right in.

My first glitzy pocket letter~

My Minds

My first partner listed My Mind’s Eye as one of her favorite companies, so I added plenty of gold and sparkle to match her personality to the Sky’s The Limit Collection.

I included a personal letter and a 5 Things About Me list.

Each of my other partners took part in the 30 Day Color Challenge, so I came up with a different pocket letter for them.

My coloring inspired pocket letter~

Little Kids

I paired October Afternoon’s Sidewalk collection with the adorable Mama Elephant In My Heart stamps to create a cute little pocket letter full of love and playfulness.

I even included a set of stamped and die cut children for each of them to color and use on a project of their own.

All of them together~

Little Kids Together

This was a great way to practice my coloring. He he.

Next up….Halloween Pocket Letters, so I’m trying to decide if I should go cutesy or creepy.

I Like Big Mutts~

And I can not lie.

The family and I saw that phrase on an animal clinic sign the other day and laughed about it for the rest of the day.

Of course, I had to explain it and the song to the kids. Sigh.

It also meant I had to use it.

My card~

Mutt

I used the adorable two sided hanging puppy from the My Favorite Thing’s You Make My Tail Wag stamp and die set.

A close-up~

Mutts

Not only is my puppy peeking at us from the front, but when you open the card you see his big…

Mutts-Inside

He he.

And the sentiment~

Mutts-Sentiment

Silly I know, but it makes me laugh.

However, probably not my best idea since my five year old is now singing the song repeatedly. Sigh.

I used~

My Favorite Things You Make My Tail Wag Stamps and Dies, Simon Says Stitched Dies, Copics, DCWV The Basics Stack

Happy Father’s Day!!

This little guy just makes me smile.

Meet Milton from Stampingbella.

My card~

I colored him for Day 19 of the 30 Day Color Challenge hosted by Kathy Racoosin from The Daily Marker.

30 Day Color Challenge 2

For whatever reason I thought he’d be perfect for my Father’s Day card for my Dad.

Especially when paired with my sentiment.

The inside~

Favorite-Inside

Funny, right?

At least I think so.

My sister, Amy, might not agree.

I saw the phrase somewhere online Friday.

I think it might have even been a stamp, but I can’t remember where I saw it or even find it now.

So, I simply used Photoshop and my printer to create my version of it.

Underneath Milton is a printed paper from Simple Stories I Am collection which lists many of the qualities that I think my Dad instilled in me.

That makes my card a little sweet and a lot sassy.

Just like me.

I used~

Stampingbella Milton, Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles, Copics, Signo White Pen, Fancy Pants Down By The Sea 6×6 Paper Pad, Simple Stories I Am 6×6 Paper Pad

Hello Graduate!!

I can hardly believe that our good friend’s daughter has graduated from High School.

Where has the time gone?

I can still remember the day she was born.

Aww…I’m getting all teary eyed just thinking about it.

My card~

Graduate

I used a Wryn Graduate digital stamp from Tiddly Inks that I colored to match Morgan’s actual gown and sash.

Luckily I had just watched a Sandy Allnock video on coloring white images.

A close-up~

Graduate-C

Not too bad I think.

Except for where I thought her hair was the stash and colored it blue.

Sigh.

Anyway blue hair or not I know that this graduate is going great places.

Just to note that it’s Day 20 of the 30 Day Color Challenge.

30 Day Color Challenge 2

Amazingly enough I’m keeping up.

Yippee!

I used~
