Happy Halloween 2013~

Want to know what made this Halloween one of the best?

The fact that a certain little girl decided to actually wear her costume. Yippee!

Last year Hartly talked and talked about dressing up for Halloween.

Like for over a month.

When the day finally arrived, there was no convincing her to get dressed up.

But this year was totally different.

As you know she’s been wearing her costume just about every day since mid September.

Between that and her Halloween Party at Nursery School I have well made up for last year’s lack of photos.

Which is also perfect since I signed up for the Masquerade Mini Album Class taught by Noel Mignon Designer Cassandra Cyr and bought the Masquerade Kit too.

I have to say that I love this album!

As in love, love, love it.

Cassandra walked us through making everything from the cover to several specialty pages using vellum, burlap and cardboard.

And I especially love that I have most of my Halloween Day pictures taken care of.

Notice I said Halloween Day. Sigh.

Seems I might have gotten a bit carried away with pictures this year. He he.

Blackbird Singing~

In the dead of night.

Sounds spooky doesn’t it?

Which makes it perfect for my Canadian Online Swarm Challenge #4: Non-Traditional Holiday Colour Challenge.

The rules are to make a Halloween project without using green, yellow, purple or orange.

You know all the current and trendy Halloween colors.

My card~

Blackbird-2

I do feel like I cheated a bit, since I stuck with a black and white color scheme.

But, they weren’t listed as being off-limits. He he.

A close up~

Blackbird-Close

My blackbird is from the Teresa Collins Chic & Scary cartridge.

To give my card a bit more sparkle I covered him with black glitter.

You know this song was recently played at a friend’s funeral as a celebration of his finally being free from his sickness.

So, maybe it’s not so spooky after all.

At least not to me.
