My Little Treasure~

Not too long ago my sister, cousin and I went through our Grandparents’s house collecting items that we would like to have to remember them by. As you can imagine it was quite the task as we all had specific items that we wanted.

Let’s see the list went a little like this~

Amy, my sister, wanted a hot pink plastic tea set that saw many summer night tea parties and a polka dotted bikini that my Mema was rumored to have worn long before I ever came to be.

I wanted the paper mache teddy bear I made them in the Eighth grade and the plastic Yogi Bear cup we got at Jellystone Park when I was five.

And my cousin, Jayne, well I’m still not sure what she wanted, but I’m sure it was just as priceless as ours items.

So when the Cricut Circle Weekly Challenge was to make a layout featuring a special family memento, I knew just what to use.

While I did not find the 30 plus year old Yogi cup, I did find this music box. It hung on the wall in the bedroom we slept in and plays Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head.

My layout featuring it~

I just love the honeycomb patterns that are so popular now. I used the honeycomb shape from the digital Teresa Collins Basic cartridge and CCR to alter it to a larger size.

My title~

The word Treasure is from the Teresa Collins Sophisticated cartridge and both layers are cut at 4.6″.

I made a tag for my journalling also from the digital TC Basic cut at 4.8 and 5.3″.
It gets tucked neatly behind my picture.

I have to say that the best part of that day was the memories filled with love that we got to share all over again.

That and seeing the embarassing pictures of how we all dressed as teens! Yikes!

I used~
