Trying something new…

30 Day Color Challenge 2

If you follow me on Instagram you’ve probably already figured out what I’ve been up to.

But, I thought I’d share here too.

I’m spending a little bit of time each day coloring for the 30 Day Coloring Challenge hosted by Kathy Racoosin from the Daily Marker.com.

I figure the best way to learn is to do, right?

My first eight days of coloring~

Mostly these are just colored images.

Hopefully, one day you’ll see them on a project.

Guess who else is super excited about this little daily challenge?

Hartly

Yep, this girl right here.

It’s also turned into a little mommy and daughter bonding time.

And that makes it even better.

Let me know if you’re participating too as I’d love to see what you’re coloring.

And quite possibly what other stamps I need to buy. He he.

I used~

Mama Elephant, Sweet Shop Stamps, Some Odd Girl, My Favorite Things and Stamping Bella Stamps, Copics, Misti Stamping Tool

School’s Out~

So, let’s play!

Lately I have been playing along with several of the Some Odd Girl Community Crop Challenges.

30 Day Some Odd Girl

My project is a bit of a stretch for the Summer Fun Challenge: To show some summer love by doing a summer theme, using a summer stamp or using summer colors!

However I figure school is out, summer vacation is starting and it’s time to play.

And that is exactly what my little kitty is doing.

While these aren’t the first colors I think of when I think of Summer, they are from Fancy Pants Down By the Shore Collection.

And who am I to argue?

I used~

Some Odd Girl Clever Kittys , Fancy Pants Down By The Shore Collection, My Favorite Things Cross Stitched Circle Dies, Enamel Dots, Copics, Brother Scan & Cut, Kelly Purkey Alphas

One Fish, Two Fish, Three Fish~

Okay, I’ve lost count.

There are just too many fish on my Some Odd Girl Community Crop H2O Challenge: Use water color pencils, critters that live on/in the water, rain drops, or anything that makes you think H2o on your project.

My card~

One Fish Two Fish

Luckily this adorable little guy was on one of the three Some Odd Girl stamp set that I own.

So, I stamped him repeatedly and got busy coloring him to create my little H2O scene.

I used small flat sequins from Papertrey Ink to mimic bubbles and I gave each fish a bit of sparkle with a Wink Of Stella pen.

There’s still a bit of time left to join in the fun and I’m hoping to get one more project done.

30 Day Some Odd Girl

Let’s just hope we don’t have a repeat of last night where a massive amount of H2O falling from the sky knocked our power out. Yikes!

I used~

Some Odd Girl Clever Kittys Stamp Set, Simple Stories I Am 6×6 Paper Pad, Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle Dies, Papertrey Ink Sequins, Wink of Stella, Copics

Hey Hot Dog~

Happy birthday!

This week I decided to join in the Some Odd Girl Facebook Community Crop.

30 Day Some Odd Girl

Now I only own 3 Some Odd Girl stamp sets.

For now.

But, I adore them.

Luckily, one of the first challenges was a Critter Challenge: Use a Some Odd Girl Critter on any type of project.

Have I mentioned all 3 stamp sets are of critters?

My card~

Hot-Dog-wm

I used the hot dog from the Preppy Pups Stamp Set to make a birthday card for my nephew.

I paired my pup with the Basic Grey Hipster collection.

A perfect match, right?

And I have decided to join in the 30 Day Coloring Challenge by Kathy Racoosin from The Daily Marker.com.

Just Meow-zing!!~

I think I’ve mentioned once or twice that Hartly and I are now watching coloring videos at nap and bedtime.

Last week we just so happened to watch Jennifer McGuire’s Copic Dot Coloring video, so it was no surprise that later that evening we had to give it a try.

My card~

Kitty

I really like this technique of adding texture and blending colors, but I do think I need to work on my feathering out colors.

But, that will come with practice and in time.

Mimicking Jennifer’s cards, I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Dies to create a stitched outline on my layers.

This also means I can use my card for Maria’s NSD 2015 Challenge: Leave You In Stitches Challenge to make a project having either real or faux stitching on it.

Would you believe me if I told you Hartly made me order all those My Favorite Things stamps Jennifer used on her card?

She insisted. He he.
