I Love You More Today ~Part 2

I thought I would start with showing you my morning project.

My son is running for the Reporter position on the Student Council and needed posters.

After nixing ALL of my creative ideas which included a photo shoot complete with props, this is what I came up with.

He did allow me to add the different colors, but I think I was pushing it with that! I had to beg to included the “Just the Facts” line.

So while playing around with Photoshop and a digital scapbooking kit I came up with this~

And would you believe he LOVED it? Teenagers! Sigh!

I’ve also been making some progress on my Get Messy class album.

This is the inside cover and first page~

I used CCR and Cricut Craft Room Basics to make the scalloped hearts and even used the negative. See I’m still Stretching My Kits. He he!

A close up~

I loved the class’s idea of placing a photo behind vellum with confetti. I told you confetti was addictive!

But, in this case it also hides the fact that the top of my dress was a little low in this picture. This was the only picture to include my husband, so I certainly wanted it in the album.

I wanted my album pages to have a peek-a-boo effect, so I cut and then edged them at various heights. I used both Elegant Edges and several EK Sucess border punches.

The inside of the back cover~

I just loved that this sheet of paper had the words yesterday, today and tomorrow on it as it’s perfect for the theme of my album.

The back~

I used Cricut Craftroom Basics for the scalloped heart. I also used the negative of the Love cut from my front cover.

A close up of my back cover~

I’ve made a little progress, so I’m happy. Plus, there’s a Buffy the Vampire Slayer Top 10 Episodes marathon on. How could I NOT be happy?

I used~
Studio Calico Get Messy Kit
Amy Tangerine Mixtape, Studio Calico Wood Veneer hearts, SC Hey Y’all stamps

I Love You More Today~

Okay, I am ready to Get Messy! As in Get Messy with Celine Navarro with her class over at Studio Calico.

Or at least my version of Getting Messy. Yes I am a chicken, but I am a clean chicken.

I am going to step out of my comfort zone with this project even if it’s not as far as the teacher wants.

To start I got out several of my Mister Huey’s Color Mists. Some of you might know the relationship that Mister Huey and I have had, and it’s NOT pretty. Just picture the deepest, darkest shade of red paint hitting the whitest white of my window trim. Yikes!

This is why you always have a bottle of Dawn Power Resolve on hand.

Now that Mister Huey has apologized I used the various mists and my album cover with it’s TODAY cut out as a mask to spray each album sheet with the word TODAY on it.

I used~
Dewey, Estate Green, Inky Black, Real Red, Pretty Pink, Heirloom Blue and Taxi
All my pretty colors~

I then outlined each with marker~

And now to my cover~

I can’t begin to tell you how much I love this Story Teller Generations paper from Crate Paper. Of course it had to go on my cover!

I dyed my doily by mixing water, Mister Huey’s Pretty Pink and Opaque White on a sheet of parchment paper and dipping it into the mixture. How’s that for getting messy?

My I love you phrase is from the Cricut Cartridge Phrases and cut at 2.75″.

My album is based off the saying~ I love you more each day, more than yesterday, less than tomorrow.

I have broken open my Class Kit, made a plan and gotten started. Woo Hoo!

So, why does the unopened jar of Modeling Paste sitting on my desk SCARE me? Eeekkk! What have I gotten myself into?

I used~
Studio Calico’s Get Messy Class Kit, Various Mister Huey’s and Echo Park This & That items
Phrases and CCR
