December Daily 2015: December 8th~

Today was a BIG day for a certain little girl.

The Santa Shop opened at school and she went armed with her list and money.

December 8th~

I used an old Christmas card and envelope to hold her list, my picture and journaling tag.

She spent the entire ride home from school telling me what she bought for everyone but me and ran right up to her room to wrap each gift.

Her excitement and pure joy from buying the simplest of  gifts for  each of us brought me to tears.

And isn’t that what this holiday season is about?

December Daily 2015: December 7th~

Tinsel, our Elf On The Shelf, has been a bit mischievous lately.

He’s hosted a Princess party, climbed the Christmas tree, ridden the train around the tree, pushed my snowmen out from under a glass dome, was found dangling from the kitchen lights and even got into the Christmas candy.

So, we had a little talk.

It was time for him to behave.

He was left last yesterday in my studio under the direct supervision of Daryl Dixon and Rick Grimes from The Walking Dead.

December 7th~

In fact, Daryl was instructed to use force if necessary if the little stinker got any where near my Copic collection.

December Daily 2015: December 6th~

Today is the perfect day to…party!

Both my Mom and Dad celebrate their birthdays in December, so we usually try to get the whole family together and have a meal somewhere special.

This year it was The Melting Pot. Yum!

December 6th~

December-6th-front

Since I wanted to include additional pictures I used a 4×6 page protector left over from a previous year’s December Daily.

I placed my date and title on the front and tucked my journaling tag behind the picture.

December-Daily-Dec-6th

I just had to use the 2 + 5 flash card since one of the birthdays was a rather important milestone. He he.

Now I’m off to fix dinner.

I’m sure the family will be just as excited tonight as they were last night.

It’s leftover night! Ha.

December Daily 2015: December 3rd – 5th~

It’s the weekend which means I can catch up, because the end of our week was crazy busy.

It all began with my Dad’s 70th birthday on Thursday.

Not only did we have a party, but also a parade.

Okay, the parade was actually the Town Of Crewe’s Christmas parade. He he.

December 3rd~

December-3rd

My Mom is the Mayor of Crewe, so she, Dad and Hartly all rode on the Town’s float.

And one little girl had the best time.

I felt it was important to include Tinsel, our Elf On The Shelf, since he was being a bit naughty.

Thankfully nothing was broken. Yet.

I mentioned earlier that Holden has been sick all week.

That lead to a big discussion about whether he should push the button on the North Pole Communicator possible contaminating it with his germs.

Needless to say we let him have his turn.

December 4th~

Until there was opera singing involved then Hartly quickly stepped in.

Speaking of Tinsel Hartly has decided to trust him to take her Christmas card and Wish List to Santa on tonight’s North Pole run.

December 5th~

December-5th

She carefully placed her envelope next to Tinsel in hopes he’ll remember it.

Good luck with that!

I’m not sure I trust that little guy, but she does.

So now I am caught up.

For now.

December Daily 2015: December 2nd~

Today’s big accomplishment…..putting the final ornaments on the Christmas tree.

Plus a few that had to be glued back together.

December 2nd~

December-2nd

After several failed attempts I was able to actually capture a certain little girl by the tree.

To include both pictures I simply paper clipped one on top of the page protector.

The base layer~

December-2nd-Base

My hand written journaling is tucked away on the twinkle card.

It might even include a count of how many ornaments didn’t survive that same little girl.

Sigh.

But, the tree still looks beautiful.

2015 December Daily~

It’s hard to believe, but it’s that time again.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year…Christmas!!

Which also means it’s time to start thinking about and more importantly working on my 2015 December Daily album.

This year I decided not to purchase a December Daily kit.

Who am I kidding?

This year I didn’t purchase multiple December Daily kits.

I did purchase the new Under The Tree collection from October Afternoon and the Simple Stories 6×8 Holiday Snap album to add to my extensive Christmas stash.

And I might have picked up a few odds and ends as well, but the bulk of this year’s album will come from my stash.

The cover~

2015-Cover

I love this holiday album from Simple Stories, so I chose papers from both October Afternoon and Pretty Little Studio to embellish it.

I stamped a Tim Holtz Santa Stamp onto text paper to play off the text on the binding of the album.

A close-up~

2015-Cover-Close-Up

I added Wink Of Stella to Santa’s beard and trim, so he sparkles.

I even made my own reindeer charm using Modge Podge.

Some of you know that I don’t usually have great luck using any type of liquid adhesive, but this was simple, easy and quick.

And I managed not to glue anything to the table or to myself. Yay!

The calendar~

Calendar

Once again the fabulous Marie from Stitch In Time has provided free December calendar printables.

Isn’t this one adorable?

I added a few can’t miss dates to mine.

So will you be making a December Daily?

If so, let me know.

I’d love to see what you make.

Who’s Flying This Thing~

And are they a licensed driver?

Because we went up and down and up and down.

Over and over.

In fact, I think our little Dumbo elephant was wilder than some of the roller coasters at Disney.

My layout~

IMG_8191

I wanted to match the colors of our Dumbo and the colors in the picture, so I pulled out my October Afternoon Midway collection and got busy.

A close-up~

Since I’m adding a new line of papers to my Disney album I kept many of the design elements the same.

I continued using the repeating Mickey heads, enamel dots and some of the same alphas.

Now would you like to guess WHO is actually flying this elephant?

There might be a treat for the first person to guess correctly.

I Gave A Letter To The Postman~

Actually, I gave several to him.

I joined in a Pocket Letter Swap with several of the ladies from our Cricut Circle Good Morning Facebook Group.

You don’t know what a Pocket Letter is?

Well, neither did I until I visited this Janette Lane’s blog for a perfect description and joined this fabulous Pocket Letter Inspiration and Inspiration Facebook group.

After figuring it all out I jumped right in.

My first glitzy pocket letter~

My Minds

My first partner listed My Mind’s Eye as one of her favorite companies, so I added plenty of gold and sparkle to match her personality to the Sky’s The Limit Collection.

I included a personal letter and a 5 Things About Me list.

Each of my other partners took part in the 30 Day Color Challenge, so I came up with a different pocket letter for them.

My coloring inspired pocket letter~

Little Kids

I paired October Afternoon’s Sidewalk collection with the adorable Mama Elephant In My Heart stamps to create a cute little pocket letter full of love and playfulness.

I even included a set of stamped and die cut children for each of them to color and use on a project of their own.

All of them together~

Little Kids Together

This was a great way to practice my coloring. He he.

Next up….Halloween Pocket Letters, so I’m trying to decide if I should go cutesy or creepy.

That Smile~

It just melts my heart.

And brightens my day.

My layout~

Even with the missing two front teeth.

After a whole lot of coloring and card making I finally found time to make a layout.

And boy, did it feel good!

I used more of Hartly’s Nursery School pictures and October Afternoon’s Cake Walk Collection to make a companion page for my Celebrate Today layout.

I had so much fun I think I’ll do it again.

Celebrate Today~

One of my favorite NSD challenges has and always will be the Timed Challenge.

I’m not sure why, maybe it’s because if given enough warning I get one totally uninterrupted hour to craft from the family. He he.

This year the NSD 2015 Challenge: Spring Into Action hosted by Jenny Dennis was no exception.

Not only did we have just one hour to create our project, it also had to have a Spring element to it.

My original plan was to make a cute and simple Spring card; however, I froze when it was time to spring into action.

After about five minutes of just sitting at my desk looking at stamps I decided to grab one of Hartly’s school pictures with the most beautiful bushes blooming all around her.

My layout~

Celebrate Today

Spring school picture…spring flowers…it works, right?

And then it was simply a matter of finding coordinating papers and embellishments.

Which you can see I had no problem with once I opened my October Afternoon Cake Walk stash.

I even grabbed that Unicorn stamp set that I was thinking I would use earlier and stamped away.

I thought the “think pretty thoughts went” perfectly with the feel of my layout.

Anyway, not too bad for a one hour challenge I think.
