A Little Halloween Fun Hanging Around The House~

Yesterday Hartly and I were looking for a bit of fun.

She’s been under the weather the past few days, so I thought I’d make her a little Halloween friend.

Introducing Bones~

Knowing that a four year old would be playing with him I used DCWV Chalkboard Stack paper.

It’s thicker and has a coating that makes it more durable than normal cardstock.

And she loved him!!

Hartly trying to find the perfect spot~

We even decided to give him a little heart. Awww…

He’s got heart~

Of course around 5:00 a.m. when she couldn’t sleep, she wasn’t too fond of her new friend.

So, I’m still debating whether or not to make the witch she requested.

I used~

DCWV Chalkboard Stack and The Basics 6×6 Stack Brights & Pastels
EK Layered Heart Punch, Ribbon and Brads
Lori Whitlock Halloween Skeleton

Hey Girl~

All my niece wanted for her birthday was a kitten.

Just a small, adorable, furry kitten that would take up hardly any room at all.

So, after asking her parent’s permission I got her one.

My card~

As you can see they said NO to a real kitten.

A close up~

I gave the kitten lots and lots of layers and even added a DCWV Itsy Bitsy tag with the birthday girl’s initial on it.

The kitten all boxed up and ready to go~

With Christmas just around the corner there’s hope they’ll change their minds.

After all she has a few months to wear them down.

He he.

I used~
My Mind’s Eye Ooh La La and Fun Day Kraft 6×6 Paper Pads, Basic Grey Hey Girl Flair, DCWV Itsy Bitsy Bright Mini Tags, CTMH Vintage Type Stamps, Papertrey Ink Twine, American Crafts Ribbon
Create A Critter for the Cat cut at 5.25″

CTMH Dotty Paper, Boardwalk Thickers, Creative Memories Circle Punch and Twine
Lori Whitlock 5.5 Mailing Box

Just A Little Something~

Remember the card I made the other day?

Like most cards I seem to make it won’t fit in a standard envelope.

So, I made a Lori Whitlock mailing box and topped it with a tag.

Which is perfect timing since this week’s challenge on the Silhouette Blog is to create a tag.

My box and tag~

My tag is simple, but I love the extra little hole protector that is with it.

I think this is a shape I either got from a Kerri Bradford class or I learned to make in it.

A close up~

I added Bitty Blossoms and a stamped sentiment to the tag and my card was ready to give.

Which is also perfect timing since they had to be in today.

I used~

Pumpkin Patch

DCWV The Pumpkin Patch Stack
Kraft Paper, Ribbon, Papertrey Ink Twine, Spellbinders Bitty Blossoms, Nina Brackett Fanciful Tags Stamp
Lori Whitlock 5.5 Mailer Box enlarged a bit
Kerri Bradford Tag sized at 4.495x 1.68″

Birthday Wishes~

For you little monkey.

I think I might have mentioned the numerous birthdays we have in September.

But, that just means we are guaranteed cake and ice cream each week. Yippee!

This just happens to be Silhouette’s birthday as well, and they’re celebrating by having all birthday related images on sale.

And of course, I picked up one or two.

I’m using them to enter their weekly challenge.

This week it’s to use any of the Celebration images.

I decided to try one of the sketch images and sketchpens to make my own patterned paper.

My printed paper~

I then attempted to cut the Lori Whitlock 3D String Tie box; however, it would have been smarter and actually worked if I remembered to switch the blade and pen. Oops!

My whoopsies~

The next time I try this I plan to first center both my printed images and my cut image on the paper just to make sure the print is spaced a bit better when cut.

I hope that makes sense.

My assembled box~

Since the birthday boy is such a little monkey I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to add one to his box.

I think these balloon floating animals are just adorable and I might have actually bought them all.

My monkey~

I have to admit there were a few other little Whoopsies I had with this project, but I love the end result and plan to try this again.

I used~

Foiled Elegance

DCWV The Foiled Elegance Stack, Silhouette Sketch Pens, American Crafts Twine, Eyelets

A Little Vintage Love

I think I’ve said it before, but it bears repeating.

I love DCWV’s Vintage Collector Stack!

The prints are fabulous and made quick work of coming up with the gift boxes I needed for upcoming birthdays.

My button box~

And if that chevron print wasn’t cute enough how about this wood grain and heart print?

My heart pocket~

Love it!

And hopefully the recipient will too.

I used~

Vintage Collector
DCWV Vintage Collector from Michaels

Peppermint Divine Twine
Button Box Cut from Lori Whitlock
Heart Pouch from Amy Robinson

Dreams Come True So Dream Big~

It’s that time of year…

So many hopes and dreams just waiting to be realized.

That same feeling of excitement is what I get when I look at the DCWV Sunday Afternoon Stack with it’s floating clouds and soaring hot air balloons.

And that made it perfect to use for my graduation card.

My gift set~

Close up of the card~

I love that hot air balloon and wanted it as the focus of my card which I paired with the semi transparent Amy Tangerine Life letter stickers.

With the ribbon and banner I knew a standard envelope was not going to work with my card, so I chose to use a Lori Whitlock bag to hold it instead.

Close up of the bag~

This allowed me to decorate the front of it as well.

And how could I not use the “dreams come true” bicycle image?

So cute!

I used~
DCWV Sunday Afternoon Stack and Foiled Elegance Stack
Amy Tangerine Remarks Life Letter Stickers, American Crafts Twine, Ribbon, Martha Stewart Glitter
Lori Whitlock Rounded Bag cut at 11.75″

Love You More Today~

Once again I get to join the fabulous ladies over at the NoelMignon.com blog.

This week the focus is on that all important holiday that is quickly approaching, Mother’s Day.

Which just so happens to be the day that these pictures were taken of Ashlyn and Holden.

And one of my favorite Mother’s Days as well.

My layout~

Look at those two!

So, so little.

I was drawn to the text in both the Crate Paper Project paper and Elle’s Studio tag found in the Country Lane kit and knew I wanted to use them together.

With that as the starting point of my layout I easily came up with my title.

I used two Lori Whitlock vinyl sayings to cut portions of it with my Silhouette and then just added those wonderful Treasure Thickers.

My title~

The Elle’s Studio tag~

I wanted to mimic the Elle’s Studio tag, so I made my own using the cream cardstock and stamping it repeatedly with Serendipity stamp.

Rather than using a heart I used a butterfly.

My tag~

To balance out my date at the bottom of the layout I added their names to the top.

I still remember the excitement of this day.

Holden wearing his Disney Trader Pin and Ashlyn her fancy bracelet.

Both bringing me flowers from Sunday School and their handmade cards.

And being surrounded by family for lunch.

One thing remains true~ I love them more today than yesterday, but not nearly as much as tomorrow.

I used~
Noel Mignon Country Lane Kit contents: Crate Paper DIY Shop Project and Artistry paper and Accent Stickers, Cream Cardstock, Elle’s Studio Serendipity Tag and Stamp Set, Studio Calico Sticker Letters, Treasure Thickers and Glitter Buttons
Portions of Lori Whitlock Vinyl Sayings
Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch and TH Tiny Attacher

Bags, bags, bags~

It’s birthday-palooza in our family again.

Which means it’s time to find a way to spruce up those gift cards I love to give.

And it’s like Lori Whitlock to the rescue.

She recently released several bag images in the Silhouette store and of course, I got them all.

My bags~

I stretched the Bracket Tab Bag a bit to fit my extra-large gift cards, but I left the Rounded Top Bag at it’s standard image size.

A close up of the Mini~

Bag Mini

And it is adorable!

I think I might need to make more.

A close up of the Bracket Top Bags~

For all three I used DCWV’s The Foiled Elegance Stack.

I love that I can used the foiled paper for a more elegant looking bag or the kraft paper for a more casual bag.

I added a few embellishments and am now ready to party.

Bring on the cake!

I used~
DCWV The Foiled Elegance Stack, The Cardstock Quotes Stack in Warm Brights
October Afternoon Cakewalk Label Stickers, Flower Stack and Chipboard
Tim Holtz Fanciful Buttons and Adornments, Papertrey Ink Twine
Lori Whitlock Bag With Rounded Top and Flat Bag With Bracket Top

A Favor Please~

Sorry, couldn’t resist the corny title.

With Spring and a whole bunch of birthdays around the corner I decided to make some of Lori Whitlock’s new favor boxes.

The 3D Tie Flap Favor Box~

This box is perfect for holding anything from candy to gift cards.

I used the BasicGrey Hopscotch Collection that Crystal from ScrapBuck.com sent me to work with.

I love the big flowers found on the paper and hand stitched buttons to the center to make them stand out a bit more.

The Birdhouse Favor Box~

How cute is this box?

The top~

I have it decorated for a birthday, but it would be absolutely adorable for a house-warming party gift.

And I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but I have developed a bit of a crush on this Fancy Pants Woven Ribbon.

I think I have used it on every project I made since Friday.

I might just have to have the kids hide it from me for a while.

If you want your own, check out ScrapBuck.com.

I used~
Lori Whitlock 3D Tie Flap Favor Box cut at 11.25″
BasicGrey Hopscotch Monkey Bars Paper, Fancy Pants Woven Ribbon, Basic Grey Buttons

Lori Whitlock Birdhouse Favor Box cut at 11.535″
BasicGrey Hopscotch First Dance Paper, Fancy Pants Woven Ribbon, Select Cardstock Pastel
Studio Calico Wood Veneer Bird, Please Note Stamps, Papertrey Ink Ad Sense Stamps

The BasicGrey Hopscotch paper, Fancy Pants Ribbon and We R Memory Keepers Good Day Sunshine Chipboard Sayings that Crystal from ScrapBuck.com sent me just makes me happy.

So what else could I do but put them all together to make a thinking of you card?

My card~

I love all the cute flowers found on the patterned paper, so I thought I would make my own using the Cricut Mother’s Day Bouquet cartridge.

I used the glitter daisies as leaves for my flowers by cutting them in half and tucking them under the flower petals.

I wanted my glitter butterfly to stand out a bit, so I glued it to a flat head stick pin that I inserted directly into the flowers.

My card has so much dimension that I wouldn’t want to put it in an envelope that could flatten it, so I used my Silhouette to make a Lori Whitlock Mailer Box.

My box~

To dress up my box I repeated the flower, ribbon and butterfly stick pin, but if left plain it can be used to actually mail my card.

The set~

I used~
BasicGrey Hopscotch Hoppy Taw, Tire Swing and Mash Game Paper, Fancy Pants Woven Ribbon, BasicGrey Buttons, We R Memory Keepers Good Day Sunshine Chipboard, Foral Embellishments by Forever In Time Daisies & Butterflies

Kraft Paper, Stick Pins, Papertrey Ink Ad Sense Stamps
