Hey Batter Batter~

If you’re looking for the DCWV and Therm O Web Summer Lovin’ Blog Hop, please click here or keep scrolling.

It’s sketch time at the Noel Mignon.com blog. Yippee!

Julie Bonner has created a wonderful sketch for this month, so make sure you check it out here and consider joining in.

It’s also my turn to post my layout based off the sketch on the Noel Mignon.com blog.

I decided to stay fairly true to her sketch.

My layout~

As you can see I had a bit of fun with the Basic Grey Hipster pieces found in the Country Lane Kit.

The sketch provided lots of room for journaling, but you guys know I’m not big on that.

So, I decided to use the Hipster Vintage Stamps and Studio Calico letters to create my journaling.

My journaling~

I used a Kerri Bradford cut for my title.

My title~

I love that the little Hipster boy looks so much like Holden that it’s not even funny.

Of course, the only person who didn’t think there was a resemblance was Holden.

I think I used every little piece from the Basic Grey decorative tape sheet.

A close up~

I love how bright and bold it is, yet it’s still transparent.

I will also mention that this baseball game took TWO days to complete.

It seems a game must go at least 13 innings before it can be declared a tie game.

However, it only went 11 and my Hipster looking son scored the game winning run. Yippee!!

I used~
Noel Mignon Country Lane Kit contents: Elle’s Studio Serenditpity Chevron Paper, Basic Grey Hipster Jive Paper, Tape Stripes and Vintage Stamps, MME Find Your Wings and Fly Decorative Brads, Studio Calico Letters

Mommy Are We Best Friends?~

This is what Hartly leaned over and asked me while we were sitting together watching her favorite TV show.

I love this child!

And you know that I had to document this conversation, so I used it for my Studio Calico Bright Ideas Challenge #1 to use a stencil on a project.

My layout~

I cut a Kerri Bradford hexagon pattern out of kraft paper and used ink to create my pattern flowing across the page.

Then I simply chose papers and elements from my Studio Calico kit that coordinated with my photo.

The Love You More stamp from the kit is quickly becoming one of my favorites.

I added a Dear Lizzy Chipboard mason jar filled with hearts, because I think my heart overflowed with love when she asked me this.

Have I mentioned I love this child?

I used~
Studio Calico February Kit Contents: Tim & Beck Paper, Cardstock, 6×6 Paper Pad
DCWV Textured Cardstock, TH Tiny Attacher, Studio Calico Love You More Stamp

Be You.~

The start of the New Year brings many new things.

And starting now are brand new free classes at Two Peas in a Bucket. Yippee!!

The first is In the Mood to Scrap.

A class geared at getting you in the mood with inspiration and busy scrapbooking.

The first episode with Wilna is fabulous!

Right now picking a special word to focus on through out the year is extremely popular and it’s the focus of her layout and the challenge given.

My word~

I’m chosing the word Be.

As in Be present in the moment. Be happy. Be loving. Be kind. Be true. Be thoughtful. Be You.

My layout~

I absolutely loved Wilna’s chalkboard paint treatment.

However, I didn’t have any and the nearest craft store is over 30 miles away.

But, I did have DCWV’s The Chalkboard Stack filled with chalkboard paper.

I tore the edges to give it a softer feel.

I used a white colored pencil for my writing and actual chalk to distress the paper a bit.

And guess what?

Using supplies I already had on hand made me very, very happy.

I used~
Studio Calico kits contents:Basic Grey Lucille pleat paper, Lucille Stitch Brads, Flair Buttons, Elle’s Studio The Sweet Life Collection Journal Card

How I long for those carefree Summer Days.

They’re gone, but certainly not forgotten.

My layout~

I love this picture of Ashlyn.

She and her brother had been chasing Hartly around the yard and even teaching her how to roll down the hill.

And guess who got worn out?

Definitely not Hartly.
