Have A Ghouslishly Great Halloween~

We decided to go a little spooky for this month’s DCWV Stack-A-Holic Challenge. Eeek!

It is October after all.

One of my most favorite months.

Fellow Design Team Member Tessa created an adorable sketch that has plenty of room to take advantage of the many printed scene patterns found in the DCWV stacks.

The sketch~

My layout~

As you can see mine isn’t too spooky.

It’s just right on the spook level…the cute side.

I made my own little Halloween shadowbox scene by using a printed haunted house picture from the stack mounted to a glitter chipboard frame and filled with the sequins.

A few close ups~

I will admit that if I were to do this again I would not add the black glitter, but I thought it needed a bit of sparkle and shine.

And once you add the glitter….you can’t un-add it. Oh well.

My layout title comes from the flair badge that I made using a Silhouette Studio image and my button machine.

I hope you’ll find a bit of time to get spooky with us this month.

We’ll be waiting.  Insert evil laugh.

I used~

DCWV Eek-a-Boo Stack, Fall & Halloween Chipboard Glitter Frames, Fall & Halloween Sequins

Ribbon, Glitter, American Button Machine and Silhouette Studio Design for the Flair Buttons

It’s A Spooky, Ooky, Haunted House!!

Okay, maybe it’s not so spooky, ooky.

It’s more cute and adorable.

Recently I participated in a House Swap over on the Cricut Circle message board.

Why buy one house for the swap, when you can buy three just in case you need a back up?

Please tell me I’m not the only one who does that.

Anyway, Hartly quickly claimed one of those extra houses and decided that it was time to decorate it.

It seems she liked DCWV’s new Halloween stacks from Joann’s as much as I did since she chose to use the Eek-a-Boo Stack for her house.

Hartly’s spooky, ooky haunted house~

I used black corrugate sheets from the Fall & Halloween Corrugate Stack to give the roof a bit of texture and character.

What’s a spooky, ooky haunted house without a ghost hanging about?

And can we talk about DCWV now having sequins? Swoon!

The pack includes black, orange, and gold sequins, but it also has gold stars and spiders. Woo hoo!

The spiders made perfect little touches for my windows.

A close-up~

I kept the decorations rather simple, since I knew this house would be in the hands of a four year old.

Currently Cinderella is living in it with Prince Charming.

I think that means she likes it. He he.

Hello There Jack-O-Lantern!

You know how you see a project someone has made and you just have to try it?

My DCWV Stack-a-holic Design team member, Amanda Phillips, made the most adorable paper jack-o-lanterns.

Hers are so much better, so please check them out here.

Meet my Jack~

I made him for the Cricut Circle Canadian Swarm.

I know I’m not Canadian, but those girls are letting this Virginia girl and everyone else join in the fun.

The first challenge was to create a Halloween Home Decor item using one Cricut cut, the color purple and at least one of the following: glitter, ribbon or a Cuttlebug embossing folder.

I think I managed to use them all but the glitter.

The back of Jack is a purple, green, orange and black plaid, so the purple does actual match.

Jack is proudly sitting on the steps with the other pumpkins waiting for Halloween.

Or at least he was until Hartly carried him off.

Hmmm…wonder if Jack will survive until Halloween.

If you’re a Cricut Circle member, please join in the fun.

I used~
DCWV The Bewitched Stack and The Halloween & Fall Stack
Favorite Findings Buttons, Ribbon, Papertrey Twine
Pumpkin Carvings for the Jack-o-lantern face, CTMH Artiste for the leaf
Forest Branches Cuttlebug Folder and Misc Tim Holtz Folder

Scary, Spooky, Boo!

Did you see DCWV’s Summer CHA booth?

Click here if you’d like to.

But I warn you, you’ll want to start decorating for Halloween right now.

I know I want to.

But for now I’ll stick with playing with the fabulous Halloween papers and embellishments in the Bewitched Matstack that can be found at Jo-ann’s.

My card~

I decided to create my own ray design to show off all those wonderful papers.

The truth is I couldn’t choose just one or two, so I used them all.

The scariest part of my little card is for once I am EARLY making a card! Woo Hoo!!

I used~
DCWV The Bewitched Matstack and The Halloween & Fall Stack, The Halloween Combo Embellishment Flip Pack, Brights Black A2 Card
Celebrate It Halloween Ribbon
