This picture of Hartly at Easter and her 2nd birthday says “Hello Spring!” to me.
The green grass and blooming dogwoods are sure signs of warmer weather, so I decided this would be a great start for the Cricut Circle NSD Use Your Scraps Challenge.
Our Spring themed layout had to be made totally of scraps, have three image cuts and incorporate the Cuttlebug as well. Yikes!
I fell in love with Scrap2010’s Enjoy layout posted over at the Studio Calico Member Gallery. She used her Silhouette to cut a heart filled circle background. So, I decided that I had to make my own!
In CCR I used circles of various sizes from the Cricut Craftroom Basic digital cartridge and filled them with butterflies from Sophie.
I backed some of the butterflies with colorful Bella Blvd scraps and others with vellum. A couple of the vellum circles were run through the Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots folder. Those are my favorite!
A closeup of my title and circles~
I used Gypsy Font to make my “hello” and added it to the Bella Blvd Alpha letters.

Most of you know that our littlest was a SURPRISE! A shock would be a better description. This time around I feel like I am enjoying and appreciating each and every little thing more good and bad. It could be I’m older and more relaxed or that’s it just one baby rather than twins or I’ve lost that new mother that doesn’t know what she’s doing feeling. Whatever it is, I like it and it’s the reason I find I take SO many pictures. I want to capture all those cute and not so cute expressions and moments.
So, that brings us to my layout. When I opened the Studio Calico March kit, Story Hour, I was drawn to the wonderful Story Teller papers from Crate Paper. The street maps and building plans got me thinking of moving, planning a life and mostly what my children will become. The same things I think about when looking at all those pictures I take. And I know these are deep thoughts brought on by a single sheet of scrapbooking paper!
But, these are all things we recently experienced with my nephew. He graduated and got a job half way across the world in San Francisco. And yes, I know it’s just a plane ride away, BUT it doesn’t feel like it especially since most of the family lives within 15 miles of each other. I also know that one day way too soon I will be at that place with my own children.
For now I will just be happy to wonder~
I typed directly onto vellum. I then ran the vellum through my larger Xyron so the adhesive would not show.
