Love Me & The Mouse~

We are currently in the middle of Snowpocalypse 2016 here in Virginia.

So, several of my crafty friends and I decided to have challenges to keep us busy.

And to take our minds off the fact that we missed out on getting that last gallon of milk or loaf of bread. He he.

Seriously….did you see the news?

There was none to be found for miles!!

Snowpocalypse 2016 Challenge #1: Scraplift Someone.

I decided to take on this fabulous layout from Paige Taylor Evans~

Love

Swoon. Right?

With me still being in Disney mode I made a few alterations.

My layout~

Disney-Love

As you can see I didn’t use the buttons, but I really didn’t have that many in Disney colors.

So, I chose to use patterned paper instead.

A close-up~

Disney-Love-Close-Up

I did add several embellishment clusters similar to the original.

And believe me, I will be revisiting the original layout to use up my button stash.

Make sure you check out more of Paige’s layouts as they are all so inspiring.

I used~

Happy New Year~

Hello 2016!

With the start of the new year have you joined the planner craze?

I tried last year, but quickly fizzled out.

This year I thought I’d try again using it to simply keep track of all my doctor appointments and the rest of the family’s crazy schedules.

Wish me luck!

Of course, I’m going to mix in some craftiness like stamping, pictures and other little sparkly things.

To start the year off right I wanted to dust off my Cricut Explore and make decorative paperclips like the ones  I had been admiring on theplannersociety Instagram feed.

My decorative clips~

Clips

Aren’t they adorable?

I used Cricut’s Seasonal Character to create my Baby New Year and Santa Claus.

Baby-Close

I can’t wait for December to roll back around to use this guy.

Santa-close

Of course, he’ll probably end up in my December Daily. He he.

Currently I’m using a sparkly heart clip to hold my place.

Heart-Clip

And I’m actually using my planner.

Yay!

I used~

Heidi Swapp 2016 Memory Planner, Sweet Stamp Shop Planner Stamps, Cricut Seasonal Character for Baby New Year and Santa Claus, Teresa Collins Gold Paper Clips, American Crafts Red & White Paper Clips, EK Success Layered Heart Punch, DCWV Cardstock, DCWV The Twinkle Glints Stack, Wink Of Stella

Here Comes The Bride~

And her flower girl~

Hartly Flower Girl

I can not even begin to tell you the excitement and anticipation we all had for Tori and Blake’s big day.

Tori has been with Hartly since she was a newborn.

She has helped shape her into the amazing young lady she is.

So together Hartly and I made Tori a special card to celebrate their wedding.

Our card~

We even dusted off the old Cricut Explore to make our blushing bride.

A close-up~

IMG_8173

The shimmer from the DCWV Premium 5 Pack Stack made our bride shine, yet she doesn’t even come close to the sparkle from the real bride.

And her flower girl.

Things have been really quiet here on my blog.

Between a wedding, soccer, volleyball and cross country seasons we’ve been extremely busy.

And there’s also a little thing like a baby on the way.

Now that things are slowing down I hope to be creating and blogging a bit more.

I used~

DCWV Premium 5 Pack Stack, DCWV Gems, Nina Brackett Fanciful Tags, Sizzix Embossing Folder, Cricut Tie The Knot Cartridge and Teresa Collins Ebosser

A Not So Happy Girl~

Remember when I said this layout was for the 2015 NSD WWW Snackdown Challenge?

Well, it seems I got my layouts and challenges all mixed up.

That one was for the All Decked Out Challenge: Create a project with a beach or nautical element to it.

This is my WWW Snackdown Challenge layout~

Not A Happy Girl

And what can I say about the face Ashlyn is making as Holden steals a bite of her Mickey Bar?

It still makes me laugh.

And she is still fussing about it.

A close-up~

Not A Happy Girl Close

The best part is there was a cooler full of free Mickey Bars just a few feet away at the Mickey’s Backyard BBQ.

But, I guess they just wouldn’t have tasted the same.

Yippee!!~

Happy 2015 National Scrapbooking  Day Weekend!!

Because, really one day isn’t enough.

Several of us are celebrating over on the Cricut Circle Message Board and our blogs with challenges starting today and going all day tomorrow.

My challenge is Crafting With Negative Nelly: Use the Negative Portion of Your Cut.

You know….the part you usually throw away.

I often find myself using the negative portion of my cuts rather than the actual cut image for backgrounds and especially for my titles.

I started by using the new shape tool features found in the updated Cricut Design Space to create my background.

It’s a simple square filled with hearts.

Lots of hearts.

IMG_7197

And yes, I saved all those hearts for a future project.

I also cut slightly larger hearts out of multiple patterned paper to use behind the cut out sheet of hearts.

IMG_7198

It took a bit of time getting them all in place and secured.

IMG_7199

It was well worth it I think.

Then I simply added my picture, title and a few embellishments to complete my layout of Miss Hartly being her usual silly self.

Yipee!!

A few close-ups~

Yippee!! Close 1

Oh, that face… I just love it.

Yippee!! Close 2

Now it’s your turn to be a Negative Nelly!

Make a card, layout, tag or any type of project using the negative part of your cut.

Post your project on the Cricut Circle Message Board under the Crafting With Negative Nelly Challenge thread for a chance to win there. Then come back here and leave me a link to your project in the comments for a chance to win here.

If you are not a Circle Member you can still participate by leaving me a comment with a link to your blog post or to any gallery of your choosing such as Studio Calico, the Cricut General Message Board, etc. Leave me a link and I’ll find you. For every project made you get TWO entries.

Don’t have time to make something? Awww…leave a comment letting me know what you would make and I’ll enter you in the drawing as well.

You have until Sunday, May 17th at midnight EST to enter to win a $20.00 gift card to Simon Says Stamp.com.  One gift card will be given away on the Cricut Circle Message Board Crafting With Negative Nelly Challenge Thread and one will be given away here on my blog. Good luck!

1, 2, 3 & Here We Go~

A new DCWV Stack-a-Holic sketch challenge means it’s the perfect time to get back to work on my Disney 2014 album.

The sketch from pagemaps~

And it just so happens that I need a layout to accompany my Happiness layout.

Please tell me that I’m not the only one who sometimes has to go back and add pages to keep the album and story flowing.

Okay, maybe I am.

My layout~

123 & Here We Go

I used the same prints from the DCWV Chick Chat Stack for this layout as well.

Of course, instead of circles I used Mickey Mouse heads.

A few close-ups~

I guess it’s also a good thing that I take so many pictures, since it makes it that much easier to add pages.

Happy Teddy Bear Day!!

What you don’t celebrate Teddy Bear Day?

Well, we do.

Or at least one of the elementary school classes does.

Every year my Mom goes and reads to the children several teddy bear stories and usually give them a little bear treat.

This year’s treat~

IMG_6698

Teddy Bear buttons and colorable tags that can be used as a bookmark.

And guess who made them all?

Me.

And my little helper.

A close-up of the tags~

IMG_6699

I used the writing feature on my Cricut Explore to draw the bear from Teddy Bear Parade and to add the sentiment.

A little time saving tip is to make sure all your writing elements are the same color.

If not, you will be having to hit that little Cricut Go button continuously.

That is exactly what my little helper did.

She kept hitting that silly little button every time it blinked.

And it blinked a lot.

The buttons~

IMG_6700

I used an adorable bear image from Miss Kate’s Cuttables to make my buttons.

These are 2.5″ making them the perfect size for the little ones.

According to my Mom not only did the kids loved them, but they had a fabulous Teddy Bear Day!

I used~

Bazzill Smooth White Cardstock, Cricut Black Pen, Teddy Bear Parade, Miss Kate Cuttables Bear Image, American Button Machine

It’s Mail Time!!

A certain little girl and I were quite busy this weekend making Valentine’s Day cards for her upcoming Nursery School party.

We had all sorts of plans for her cards, but they all changed once I showed her several of the Disney Valentines.

We printed and organized them Friday night.

IMG_6517

Saturday morning Hartly organized them again and signed each one while I was busy making envelopes using the We R Memory Keeper Envelope Punch Board.

I love that thing.

At least once I read the directions.

IMG_6528

After we had all the cards and envelopes ready to go it was quickly decided that she needed something to store them safely in. Sigh.

So we grabbed a DCWV Kraft Mailer Box, The Winter In The Woods Stack and a cute Lettering Delights image and got busy.

Now everything will stay perfectly organized~

Packed

Heaven knows we don’t want anyone getting the wrong Valentine after we spent a lot of time deciding just who would get which one.

And I mean a lot of time.

Now that she’s got her very own Valentine Box, maybe I’ll get the one I made last week back.

XOXO

But, somehow I doubt it.

I used~

Hello Mouse & Co. 2014~

And goodbye procrastination. He he.

I’ve decided that starting your former Disney vacation album right after you book your next Disney vacation might not be the best way to record all those memories.

So, I am a bit excited to say that I have officially started my Disney 2014 album.

My layout~

Hello Mouse 2014

I wanted everything to compliment rather than compete with my picture of Cinderella’s Castle taken when we first entered the Magic Kingdom, so I chose a textured paper and vellum prints from the DCWV Premium Paper Collection 5 Packs.

The Premium Paper Collection 5 Packs are filled with various types of specialty papers including textured, foil, vellum, burlap and laser cut papers.

A few close-ups~

Hello Mouse 2014 Close 1

Hello Mouse 2014 Close 2

Using a Mickey punch and several papers with different textures and finishes I was easily able to make my coordinating Disney embellishments.

If you’ve been to Disney lately, you know that you come home with lots of little collectibles like trading pins and even now your Magic Band, so I decorated a DCWV Kraft Nesting box to house some of Hartly’s little trinkets.

Hartly’s Mouse House~

Mouse House

Mouse House Side

With just a few bits, pieces and some washi tape her box was ready.

And since she also knows the Nesting Box set includes 11 more boxes that’s a good thing, because it looks like I’ve got more to make.

Oh boy.

I used~

DCWV Premium Paper Collection 5 Pack, DCWV Kraft Nesting Box Set, DCWV Insta Photo Fun Foiled Cardstock Stack
EK Success Mickey Punch, Enamel Dots, Simple Stories Say Cheese Die Cut Elements, October Afternoon Gray & Crème Mini Market, Root Beer Float Thickers, Washi Tape
Cricut Mickey & Friends for the large kraft Mickey head

Dear Santa~

I got your letter.

Well, actually Hartly got your letter.

And boy, was she excited.

Are you absolutely, positive you have her on the right list?

Just kidding. Kind of.

After receiving Santa’s letter Hartly, Ashlyn and Holden all had to write him back as well as complete their Christmas lists for him and especially for me.

So, I thought it would be nice to have a special keepsake box to store all these letters and lists.

Dear Santa

I started with a plain, kraft Mailer Box from DCWV, covered it with prints from the DCWV Candy Cane Lane Stack and added my die cut Santa plus a few embellishments.

A few close-ups~

Dear Santa Close Up 3

I cut strips of matching paper to cover the sides and then ran ribbon around it.

As you can see I have a great love of Pop Dots.

And I’m quite enjoying using my Wink Of Stella to add sparkly touches of glitter.

With the letters tucked in~

Now all we need to add is the letter from the Big Guy when he hopefully comes to our house tonight.

I better go stock up on milk and cookies.

Merry Christmas everyone!!
