December Daily 2014: December 18th~

Remember those Christmas packages I mentioned yesterday?

Today they were being guarded by Tinsel, our Elf On The Shelf.

He caught on quickly didn’t he? He he.

It’s hard to peek when you could possibly bump into the little, magical elf who will tell on you to Santa.

December 18th~

December Daily 18 a

Since Tinsel travels back and forth each evening, we’ve been discussing the North Pole a lot in our house.

In fact, Travis got an app on his phone that let’s Hartly track Santa at any given time.

Tracking Santa~

December Daily 18 b

I thought it would be cute to include a map of the North Pole with her Santa sightings on it.

I have a journaling tag clipped to the top with my handwritten notes on it.

That’s for you Francine!

And Santa….Hartly’s got her eyes on you! He he.

Do you want to build a snowman?

Tinsel, our Elf On The Shelf, sure did.

He joined Mickey, Minnie and Pluto in making a snowmouse. He he.

December 17th~

December Daily 17

Since I had a busy day with work and wrapping presents I kept today rather simple by printing a full-page sized picture.

I added a few embellishments and a vintage Frosty The Snowman image found on Pinterest with my date.

My Frosty insert~

December Daily 17 b

Quick and easy.

Now I’m off to go round-up all the extra presents of old toys my little helper wrapped.

I think it’s part of her master plan to sneak a peek at the real presents.

It’s a good thing Tinsel is keeping an eye on her too.

This girl is tricky.

It’s official.

The lists have been finalized and mailed.

No more additions, changes or substitutions allowed.

Of course I’m talking about the lists for Santa.

This weekend Hartly received a letter from Santa.

The excitement level in the house which was already high skyrocketed.

Apparently Santa has placed her on the Nice List.

He also asked for her to write him back, so they all had to pen a letter to the Big Guy.

December 16th~

December Daily Dec 16

They were so cute all lined up at the counter busily writing.

I added a vintage Christmas List image I found on Pinterest in between my pages.

Most can be found on my A Little Christmas Cheer Board.

And if you’re looking for a letter from Santa, hurry over to Lia Griffith’s blog.

It was a big hit here!

This was a BIG day!

I now have TWO teenage drivers in the house. Yikes!

Or Yippee!

December 15th~

December Daily Dec 15

I haven’t decided yet, because that’s a lot of driving and time spent in a car….90 hours of instruction between the two of them. Sigh.

I used a vintage printable found on Pinterest of Santa driving his reindeer that I thought would be cute to go along with the picture of Holden after he passed his test.

Just so you know the kind lady at the DMV provided Hartly with her own Virginia Driver’s Manual.

And she’s already studying the road signs. Oh my.

Meet Tinsel our Elf On The Shelf.

Would you believe it was Ashlyn who really, really wanted him?

So she is in charge of Tinsel and I have a feeling we are in for some Elf mischief.

I also had to get a picture of Hartly holding all of the Moon Pies we were given at church.

I hadn’t had one in years and after a small bite I remembered why.

Let’s just say they are not my favorite treats.

However, she loved them.

Can you believe that we are half way through December?

Me either!

Have I mentioned how I haven’t done much Christmas shopping yet? Yikes!

So my hubby and I decided to leave the kids with their grandparents and head off for a marathon shopping trip.

Since we were preparing for the Big Guy’s arrival I thought a special little date card was in order~

My actual picture is from the new Christmas tree at Short Pump Town Center that you can even walk through.

It is absolutely beautiful.

In case you were wondering we had a very romantic dinner in the aisles of Costco sharing a slice of pizza.

Saturday was the annual Andrews’ Family Christmas Lunch.

December 13th~

December Daily Dec 13

Leave it to Santa to find and bring Hartly a Jake and The Neverland Pirates costume.

We had searched every inch of Disney World and could not find one.

I guess that Santa has connections!! He he.

The best part was actually seeing Santa outside in the parking lot as we left the restaurant.

He was busy helping someone start their car.

Is there nothing that guy can’t do?

It was Party Day at Nursery School.

Which meant all the little boys and girls had to dress up.

Do I even need to mention that I had one very excited little girl?

She played games, had delicious treats and exchanged gifts.

I even heard she got the chance to talk to the big guy himself….Santa!!

Now that she’s officially started her Christmas Break, she’s even MORE excited.

Oh boy!

How many days until Christmas?

Every year our little family picks out new ornaments for the tree.

So, I thought I would use today to highlight those new additions to our tree.

December 10th~

Dec Daily 11 A

Can you tell what our family has been into this year?

All things Disney!!

I don’t know about you, but I love for my pictures to have the little white border around them.

And time after time when I’m printing specific sized photos I forget to allow for it.

However, this time I remembered. Yippee!

In case you’re like me…to get my pictures to fit the 2″ pockets and have a white border I printed them at 1.75″.

In between my pages I added a Do A Good Deed Every Day tag from Heidi Swapp~

I think I have finally found my groove with working on this year’s December Daily.

It helps that a certain little girl is helping me and really pushing me to work on it each day.

It’s like I have my very own December Daily elf.

If only she wouldn’t run of with my tape runner.

Every Tuesday is Show & Tell Day at Nursery School.

This Tuesday the letter was J.

And what’s the perfect J item to take?

December 9th~

December Daily 2014 Dec 9

Jingle Bells!!!

You should have seen Hartly trying to sneak into school while she jingled with each step.

Finally she gave up trying to be covert and just merrily skipped into school sounding like all of Santa’s reindeer.

If you look closely you will see my journal card with this story tucked under all the layers.

It’s even written in my very own handwriting, since a fellow crafter has challenged us to use our handwriting more.

That’s for you Francine!!

A word of caution about giving a four year old a container of jingle bells….

They just might end up all over the car jingling with each turn you make. Sigh.

December Daily 2014: December 8th~

Right before dinner Hartly, Holden, Ashlyn and I used our North Pole Communicator to talk to the Elf who is in charge of clocks at the North Pole.

Do you know what he told us?

That Santa will be coming to our house in 16 days. Yikes!

Guess I need to get busy marking items off my To Do List.

Like shopping for presents.

One thing I can cross off that list is this month’s DCWV Stack-a-Holic Challenge.

The sketch by Valerie Mangan for The Studio Challenges~

Rather than making my normal 12×12 layout page, I used it for today’s December Daily page.

As you can see the kids have been busy making MORE lists for me, so I’d better get busy.

I hope you’ll join in this month’s DCWV Stack-a-Holic Sketch Challenge.

And don’t forget all this week DCWV and Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft® are having a Winter Blog Hop.

Tomorrow I’ll be posting my project and I promise it will be sparkly.

Really, there is still glitter everywhere!
