I’m Making A List.

And checking it twice.

Santa Claus is coming to town.

But first have you missed me?

Life has gotten to be a bit crazy keeping up with a baby, a six year old and two High School Seniors.

Not to mention I’m now working more since my Dad retired in June.

Thanks Dad! Just kidding…he deserves it.

I have been creating and coloring, but not blogging about it.

However…December is just around the corner which means it’s December Daily time.

One of my favorite projects each year.

So, today I’m gathering my supplies and starting the base pages of my album.

Luckily I have a few supplies laying around.

Also I’m printing a 2016 December calendar provided by the fabulous Marie at her blog.

I don’t know if I’ll be able to keep up daily or weekly, but I know I’m going to have fun documenting one of our favorite times of the year.

December Daily 2015: December 23rd – 25th~

As the days get closer to Christmas it’s what we like to call Christmas-palooza!

Days of eating, gift exchanging and being together.

December 23rd~

December-Daily-23

It all begins with my family.

And of course, Dada Jim has to magically guess what is in his gift.

This year we made it easy on him.

He quickly guessed a basketball to go with the basketball goal he got for his birthday.

However, the second basketball  we gave to Grandma Sally was quite the surprise.

To both of them. He he.

The same day Tinsel planned to defeat Darth Vader and blow up the Death Star by using the Star Wars Lego space crafts built by the kids and Travis.

Hartly wrote him a letter telling him how we’d all miss him.

December-Daily-23-B

Our Christmas Eve started with Tinsel reading to many of Hartly’s stuffed animals the story of the birth of Jesus.

See….that elf can behave!

The rest of the day was spent with Travis’ family.

December 24th~

December-Daily-24

It was an early bedtime for Hartly and me.

She started begging to go to bed around 6 pm, so that Santa could come.

That girl!

I think I managed to hold her off until 8 pm.

And finally….December 25th~

December-Daily-25

More gifts, food, family and hugs.

Isn’t that the best part?

December-Daily-25-B

Since we’ve had crazy warm temperatures and tons of rain this Winter, I wanted to included a bit of snow in my album.

To make my Winter wonderland shaker page I used a mixture of Heidi Swapp Snow and Papertrey Ink Star sequins against an October Afternoon patterned paper.

I placed all the lists, letters to and from Santa and miscellaneous items in the back of the last day.

December-Daily-Finishing-To

And finally I created an envelope to hold many of the Christmas cards we received.

December-Daily-Finish-B

I simply can not believe that today is the last day of December.

It flew by.

I guess that means we were having too much fun.

Happy New Year!!

December Daily 2015: December 20th – 22nd~

We’ve been attending a new church recently.

The Big Kids are comfortable there since several of their friends attend; however,  Hartly has been happier sitting with their friends rather than joining in the Children activities.

So, it was quite the surprise when she agreed to be an angel in the annual Christmas pageant.

December 20th~

December-Daily-December-20

An even bigger surprise is that Pastor’s wife talked both Ashlyn and Holden into joining in as well.

Especially since Holden told me there was absolutely NO way he was dressing up. He he.

December 21st~

December-Daily-December-21

I wanted to include one of Hartly’s holiday masterpieces in my album, so her Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer completes December 21st.

December 22nd~

December-Daily-Dec-22

Today’s newspaper included the letters to Santa from all the local school children.

We had the best time reading all the letters from Hartly’s friends and classmates.

Captured~

If you saw my December Daily 2014: December 23rd page, you probably already know about my ordeal of trying to reenact the I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus scene.

If you didn’t, let me just say it didn’t go quite like I had envisioned. Sigh.

But, it did create a wonderful memory filled with lots of laughter and lots of kisses.

And lots and lots of what I would consider outtakes much like the one I used here.

My layout~

I already had my Maggie Holmes Open Book Collection out, so I picked a sketch from Pinterest to create my layout.

I thought the creams, greens and golds of the collection would be perfect for my picture filled with the bright lights of our Christmas tree.

A few close-ups~

I have to tell you that I still giggle when I look at this picture.

Wonder what I can come up with for next year to top this?

December Daily 2014: December 26th & The Finishing Touches~

Our final day of celebrating Christmas this year fell on the day after Christmas with us spending the morning with hubby’s family.

I love how all of the cousins are looking at the camera with the exception of the littlest.

That girl!

December 26th~

Earlier in the week I had found this little iron on gem from Sara at Confetti Sunshine and knew it had to be included in my album.

My bag of coal~

December Daily Coal Bag

Not to mention I made several to give away. He he.

I simply used supplies I already had at home including left over Studio Calico fabric bags and Avery Dark Fabric Iron On paper.

I think they’d look better using the regular Iron On paper, but they’re still cute.

With our Christmas celebrations over and my mini album turning out to be not so mini I thought it was the perfect time to end this year’s album.

Especially with my desk looking like this~

December Daily Cover Mess

For my cover I used a Christmas image I believe was originally from a Jessica Sprague email from last year.

My cover~

December Daily Cover

I added a bow from one of our Christmas packages and a few sparkly chipboard hearts.

And with that I have packed up all the Christmas scrapbooking supplies for now and can actually see the top of my desk again.

What kind of mess should I make now? He he.

December Daily 2014: December 25th~

Christmas morning…

There’s nothing quite like it is there?

Especially with young children around.

The excitement level at my parent’s house on Christmas Day was barely contained.

And I loved every minute of it!

December 25th~

December Daily Dec 25 Left

So I decided to use a picture of all the cousins together making funny faces for this day.

December Daily Dec 25 Right

Since Santa seemed to think all of these children were on the Nice List and visited them, I included an image from Pinterest as well.

Both pages together~

December Daily Dec 25 Both

I can hardly believe how quickly December has gone by.

And I do believe someone in this house has already started the countdown to next Christmas.

December Daily 2014: December 24th~

Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.

Especially at our house, because we were at the movies. He he.

With Christmas Day falling on Thursday this year it meant I had to work on Christmas Eve.

Which meant our normal Christmas Eve plans with Travis’s family got bumped.

Which also meant we had a free night.

So, we headed to the movies.

December 24th left side ~

December Daily 24 Right

I started with another printable from Pinterest, because it was just too cute not to use.

December 24th right side~

I had to include a selfie of Holden and me in our extremely stylish 3D glasses.

And I slipped our ticket stubs in as well.

In case you were wondering the Hobbit was fantastic.

Luckily Holden received the first two movies as a gift, so we watched those Christmas Day and the day after.

Now I’m anxious to run out and buy the Fellowship of The Rings trilogy to watch too. Hmmm…
