You may know by now that I’m the Queen of Gift Cards when it comes to gift giving.
Currently I like stamping or decorating in some way the Recollections kraft bags before sliding my gift card in.
However I knew I wanted to do something a little different for my super hero loving cousin.
My gift bag~
I started with stamping and coloring on Desert Storm Neenah paper the average boy next door found in the Sweet Stamp Shop Super Boy set.
It was interesting coloring on this paper for the first time.
I didn’t quite get the shading I wanted, but it still looks cute.
I think I will be practicing a bit more with it in the future
Lifting the flap~
Once you lift the flap and his disguise of glasses is removed, my super hero is revealed.
Isn’t it always the quiet ones with glasses that you have to watch out for?
Or is that just how it is in my house. He he.
I colored this as part of the 30 Day Coloring Challenge.

Sometimes all you need to be happy is a hug from a friend.
I used the adorable bunnies from the Mama Elephant Honey Bunny stamp set to create a simple card to send a friend who hasn’t been feeling well.
Hopefully today is a good day for YOU to be happy too.

Have you been coloring during October?
I’m joining in when I can, but it’s not as much as I would like.
I’ve even spent some evenings coloring, but I haven’t found the time to post my pictures.
There’s just not enough time in the day.
And it’s hard to get a good picture after dark. Sigh.
But, here’s one of my evening’s work~
Even on a completed card!!
How about that?
The little princesses from The Greeting Farm Ever After set are so cute and fun to color.
And perfect for a real princess’s birthday.

And her flower girl~
I can not even begin to tell you the excitement and anticipation we all had for Tori and Blake’s big day.
Tori has been with Hartly since she was a newborn.
She has helped shape her into the amazing young lady she is.
So together Hartly and I made Tori a special card to celebrate their wedding.
We even dusted off the old Cricut Explore to make our blushing bride.
The shimmer from the DCWV Premium 5 Pack Stack made our bride shine, yet she doesn’t even come close to the sparkle from the real bride.
And her flower girl.
Things have been really quiet here on my blog.
Between a wedding, soccer, volleyball and cross country seasons we’ve been extremely busy.
And there’s also a little thing like a baby on the way.
Now that things are slowing down I hope to be creating and blogging a bit more.

Have you missed me?
I will admit that life has gotten a bit out of control with us trying to enjoy every last moment of the Summer.
Need I mention school started yesterday?
So I thought I’d pop in here with my card for Kathy from The Daily Marker Pop Up Challenge: It’s All About Lines.
I used Washi tape to form my lines of varying sizes and simply blended two colors of Distress Ink into the white spaces.
Once I removed the Washi tape I had a perfectly striped or better yet lined background.
Keep an eye out for more Pop Up Challenges from Kathy at The Daily Marker.
I know I’ll be joining in!

That an adventure was going to happen.
I love that sentiment.
Almost as much as I love the Petunia Gets A Piggy Back image that accompanies it.
You just have to smile looking at those two together.
It reminds me of a certain little girl running around my house. He he.

Sometimes you work on a project and it just makes you happy.
That’s exactly how I felt working with this adorable little piggy from the My Favorite Things The Whole Herd stamp set.
In fact, I think I giggled the entire time.
I simply stamped three of him on a sheet of Post It paper and cut them out to use as my mask.
Then I would stamp my pig, cover him with one of the masks and repeat until I had my entire Polaroid area filled with adorable piglets.
This was a great way to play with various Copic pinks and practice blending them, since I wanted several different shades.
As an added bonus my little piggy polaroid was spotted and featured on the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog!
And that makes me squeal with delight.

And I can not lie.
The family and I saw that phrase on an animal clinic sign the other day and laughed about it for the rest of the day.
Of course, I had to explain it and the song to the kids. Sigh.
It also meant I had to use it.
I used the adorable two sided hanging puppy from the My Favorite Thing’s You Make My Tail Wag stamp and die set.
Not only is my puppy peeking at us from the front, but when you open the card you see his big…
And the sentiment~
Silly I know, but it makes me laugh.
However, probably not my best idea since my five year old is now singing the song repeatedly. Sigh.

So, the 30 Day Coloring Challenge is over.
But, I loved every minute of it.
Especially since I learned a few things.
Like different methods for masking your stamped images, so you can add more stamps to your card or color backgrounds like I did here.
I stamped my little girl image, masked her with a simple additional cut out of her and stamped my sentiment.
After I colored her, I re-masked her and used my inks and sponge to color the background sky.
In the future I’ll be brave enough to create a mask of my sentiment or perhaps get a tad bit closer to my little girl, but for now I’m good.
Remember I have the cutting skills of a five year old.

This little guy just makes me smile.
Meet Milton from Stampingbella.
I colored him for Day 19 of the 30 Day Color Challenge hosted by Kathy Racoosin from The Daily Marker.
For whatever reason I thought he’d be perfect for my Father’s Day card for my Dad.
Especially when paired with my sentiment.
At least I think so.
My sister, Amy, might not agree.
I saw the phrase somewhere online Friday.
I think it might have even been a stamp, but I can’t remember where I saw it or even find it now.
So, I simply used Photoshop and my printer to create my version of it.
Underneath Milton is a printed paper from Simple Stories I Am collection which lists many of the qualities that I think my Dad instilled in me.
That makes my card a little sweet and a lot sassy.
Just like me.
