Not A Creature Was Stirring~

Not even a mouse.

Okay, maybe this little guy is up to something.

Sure looks like it.

My card~

Mouse Card

I think he’s trying to get a peek at the big guy himself, Santa.

A close-up~

I hope my mischievous mouse will help brighten the day of a certain little girl.

And if you’re a card marker I hope you’ll join me in sending little Addie a lifetime of Christmas cards.

I used~

DCWV Candy Cane Lane Stack, DCWV Gems
AC Wondermint Stamps, Clear Winks Of Stella
Cricut Birthday Bash for the Mouse cut at 4.5″

School Shopping~

Bet you weren’t expecting to see this one doing the school shopping!

But, she was being super helpful and carrying the bags for her brother and sister.

Well, dragging them would be a better description.

My layout~

I have to tell you that I was SO excited to finally open the new Studio Calico kits for this month.

They’ve been sitting on the dining room table for over a week.

This month has just been super busy with Volleyball and Soccer leaving me with little time to spend in my study.

So, this morning I grabbed Jennifer’s sketch for the Cricut Circle Canadian Online Swarm Challenge #3 and tore open the Central High Kit.

I instantly fell in love with the Basic Grey Polaroid paper.

I am using it’s cluster of papers to loosely follow the sketch, since I could not bring myself to cut or cover this paper any more than I did.

I guess I should also mention that I used every last bit of this paper before I thought to write down the name. Whoops!

I also love that the Tim & Beck striped paper mimics Hartly’s dress.

Between the kit and the sketch I had this layout completed in no time at all.

I just wish the Back to School Shopping had been this quick.

Do you know how loud it is in Abercrombie & Fitch? LOUD!

I used~
Studio Calico Central High Kit contents:Basic Grey paper, Tim & Beck paper, Die Cut shapes, Ribbon, Sequins, Flair
Kelly Purkey You Rock stamp, Dear Lizzy Date Stamp, AC Doll Thickers
Birthday Bash for the word school cut at 1″

I thought I would share the Scarlet Lime kit I’m giving as a prize for the Cricut Circle Canadian Online Swarm Challenge #6~

My Challenge is simple.
Use Something Old and Something New on a project of your choice.
You just need to include One Cricut Cut.
Easy Peasy!!

You have until October 8th to get your entries in, so join in!

Make a Wish~

The Canadian Cricut Circle girls are having an online swarm this weekend. Yippee!!

Not only is it open to all Circle Members, but they’re letting me come up with a challenge. Eeek!

I just received this week from a good friend the Chip ‘n Sticks from the new October Afternoon Cakewalk Collection.

Love these!

And instead of storing them away, I just had to use them.

So my challenge is to use Something Old and Something New together on any type of project.

My card~

I used my old Birthday Bash cartridge to make the cake card featuring all that wonderful new October Afternoon collection.

A close up~

Isn’t that raccoon adorable?

The prize for my challenge is a scrapbooking kit from either the Scarlet Lime or Studio Calico.

So, if you’re a Circle Member and are interested head on over to the Canadian Online Swarm and join in.

I used~
October Afternoon Cakewalk Buttercream and Streamers paper, Shape Stickers, Flower Sack and Buttons
Fly a Kite Dandelions paper, Frosted Lace Stickles
Birthday Bash for the Cake card cut at 8.41″ high

With the Jerk of a String~

She had them all.

Oh yeah! I went there. The new Cricut Circle cartridge is out, and there appears to be a lot of hub bub about the word Jerk being on it.

So, I decided to use it on a project. And I think it’s cute!

One of Hartly’s favorite birthday gifts was her bouquet of balloons. She ran and ran around the house with them tightly gripped in her hand trailing behind her.

But the best part was her jerking the string holding them together and watching her squeal with delight as they floated up to the ceiling.

It’s a good thing her Daddy is so tall, because I think he spent an afternoon pulling them off the ceiling.

My layout~

I used the Studio Calico Story Hour kit as the colors played off the colors of the birthday balloons.

My title~

My cuts are from Out of Character for the word jerk cut at 2.5″, Birtday Bash for the pennant layer and Opposites Attract for the word string.

My last two cuts were cut to the size of my scrap paper. I’m still Stretching my Kit and using even the tinest of my scraps. Yippee!

I plan to use this layout for the Circle Weekly Challenge: Birthday Challenge in which you needed to use string on your layout.

And really how can you have a layout about string without string?

I used~
Story Hour kit contents: Echo Park Happy Days Diamonds paper, Style Essentials Yellow Damask, Crate Paper Story Teller Docutment paper and Border Stickers
Making Memories Tiny Alpha Stickers, twine, EP This & That Decorative Brads

Happy Little Moments ~I finished!!

Yippee!! While I love, love, love this little book there is nothing like the feeling of finishing a project.

And I see plenty of these fun little books in my future. Wouldn’t all those Joe-centric Stephanie Plum books be perfect for this? He he!

I found this book plate in my October Afternoon stash and added it to the front. It reminds me of a Little Golden Book.

For my back cover I thought it would be cute to make a library pocket envelope and card.

I used~
Fabulous Finds to cut the pocket at 4.25″

This little book has certainly made ME happy. Although my oldest daughter has already counted the number of pictures of each child and they are not equal. So, it looks like I’ll be making another to make HER happy.

A Blast from the Past~

This week the twins turned….13!! I can’t believe it! I am the mother of TEENAGERS!?!

How did that happen?

And when did their father get SO old?? Yikes!

It seems just like yesterday that we were bringing them home from the hospital. Sigh.

Anyway, the point of all this is that yesterday while preparing for their party I pulled out the Happy Birthday banner I made last year. This was my very first multi-layered Cricut project!! Before this banner all I had ever used my Cricut for was simple little cuts. I think this was the first time I ever used Pop Dots too. And now I can’t imagine a project without them.

So to celebrate I am posting my banner here.

I used~
Birthday Bash, Sweet Treats, DCWV paper stack, Ribbon borrowed from my Mom (Noticed she hasn’t gotten it back! He-he! Thanks Mom!)
