Happy, happy Birthday~

A request has been made on the Cricut Circle Message Board for birthday cards for a very sick little boy. So, while I’m watching my beloved Jeff and the finale of Survivor I put this card together.

I used papers from my Bella Blvd Warehouse Box.

Can you ever have enough Bella? I think NOT!

The inside simply wishes him a Happy, Happy Birthday!

I put the little puppy on an action wobble, so hopefully Austin will get a kick out of seeing the him prance around. I know I do!

Except this picture makes me a little dizzy! Yikes!

I used~
Estate Sale Linen and Nana’s Apron, Super Stud Eclipse, and Sweet Celebration Sugar Cone
Black cardstock
Boys Will Be Boys
Papertrey Ink Ad Sense stamps
Action Wobble

i love you

Just in case you didn’t know~ I love this child! And that’s the story this layout tells.

I am still working on NSD challenges, so that is how this layout began.

One of Studio Calico’s challenges was to work with triangles. Meanwhile the Cricut Circle has a tricky little challenge to use CCR and the CCR exclusive digital cartridges only. So, I decided to do both on the same layout!

My layout~

I knew I needed a triangle; however, a quick search of CCR images did not show any. Yikes!
But fear not, I simply took the pennant shape from Party Picks and Pennants made it 3″ wide and stretched it a bit until it was the size I desired. Easy peasy!

A close up of my triangles~

I gently adhered them to my page and then sewed along the base. And if I may say so, my stitches look pretty darn good!

I’m just glad you can’t see the back, because something very weird happened there! It’s like the bottom bobbin went CRAZY!! But, you can’t see it, so it doesn’t really matter, right?

My heart~

The heart is from Word Bubbles. Cut at 4.5″ and stitched down the center.

My i heart u~

The letters are from Cricut Craft Room Basics.

All of the wonderful papers, chipboard embellishments and even the cute little heart button are all from Bella Blvd. Yes, I finally got into my prize goodies!

I used~
Bella Blvd Baby Girl Pretty in Pink, Sunshine & Happiness Popsicle Kisses, Sunny Side Up, Sophisticates Sprinkles & Lace Ice, Spring Flings & Easter Things A Tisket A Tasket papers
Sophisticates Ciao Chip Stars & Hearts
Baby Girl Alpha & Bits
Button Market Feminine Mix
Cricut Craft Room Basics, Word Bubbles, Party Picks and Pennants

Okay, I am off to admire my layout and remember the days before she turned TWO! Sigh!

A heart full of love, hope & dreams

Let me start with a disclaimer~ I can NOT sew! I think some of you might already know this, but when you see this next layout it will certainly be evident.

But, I think the best way to learn is to just do it. Like Nike says! So, I did.

Just please don’t look too closely.

This layout is for the Studio Calico NSD challenge to use confetti on your layout.

My layout~

I used CCR to place my heart from Letter Envy Font and phrase from Nursery Rhymes in the exact place I wanted it. I love that it so much easier to see on my computer screen than on my tiny Gypsy screen.

And I used the original Provo Craft die cut machine to make the confetti~

I used these high tech tools on my scraps of various Bella Blvd paper lines, added some Martha Stewart sequins and gems to a party bag and taped it to the back of my white sheet of cardstock.

I then decided my layout needed a little something and that’s where the sewing came in. Would you believe I even read the instruction manual to the sewing machine? It’s not perfect, but it’s a start!

I used~
Studio Calico City of Lights kit contents:Sassafrass Butterfly Die Cut Stickers
Add on Kit: kesiart Itinerance Athenes paper
Bella Blvd Sunshine and Happiness papers
White cardstock, black cardstock, Seam Binding Ribbon, MS gems and sequins
Letter Envy Font, Nursery Rhymes

Everything in it’s place.

Hartly’s new trick is to line up her pal Mickey and all his buddies on the steps in a perfect order. After she gets them just right she runs to find me, my camera and starts her adorable, “Peez Momma!”

I then have to take picture after picture of her, them and anything else she can find. It’s hysertical!

So, I decided to document this using Sketch Four from my Studio Calico Sketchbook 4 class.

I love the circles on this sketch and thought their placement would replicate her placement of the characters.

I used~
George for the circles cut at 1.25, 1.75 and 2″.
Florals Embellished for the Everything phrase cut at a width of 7″.
Studio Calico’s March add on kit Narrative contents: American Crafts Chap paper, AC Epoxy Brads and letter stamps.
Caribbean twine from the Twinery
Bella Blvd Sunshine Happiness Popsicle Kisses and Sunny Side Up, Sphisticates Sprinkles & Lace Ice, Spring Flings A Tisket A Tasket papers
(And yes, those are my NEW Bella Bvld papers that I won!!)

Now if only she would put her toys away when she was done playing wth them!

It’s Here, It’s Here!!

But, let’s start at the beginning…

In February Bella Blvd had a week of challenges. For each challenge you completed you got an entry to win $100.00 of their Brand Spanking New Spring Lines. If you completed all five challenges, you got a total of ten entries. Which I did!

All of the entries went into this magic green bowl~

And look who won~

ME!! And yes, I do a happy dance every time I think about it!

You can imagine that I’ve been a wee bit excited today, since I knew my box was going to arrive. Here it is~

Filled to the brim.

Oh Carii~ you have NO idea! It’s like Christmas morning!

All of my new Bella Blvd goodies~

I am SO excited! Thank you Bella Blvd!! Now where to begin?

Having Fun

Having fun in the pool for the first time! And to think this was when it was easy to have her in and around the pool.

Bella Blvd’s last Challenge was to use punched circles. Since I didn’t have my circle punches handy this weekend, I chose an easier method and used my Cricut.  Shhh, don’t tell!

I pop dotted the smaller circles to add some dimension.

I used~

All Inclusive Ocean View paper, Bookin on the Beach paper, Badda Bing Chipboard and Orange Twine

George for the circles cut at 2″ and 1.25″

Aren’t these papers perfect for water pictures?

Ahhh, I think it’s time for a vacation. Some place warm would be nice!

You Are One Tough Cookie!

Thursday’s Challenge over at Bella Blvd was to use Border Strips. When I looked through my massive Bella Blvd stash I spotted the Sports collection and knew it was time to do a layout for my poor neglected son.

I used the Making The Team Collection Soccer paper, Borders and Just Write Journal Stickers.

I cut and arranged multiple border strips and pop dotted the star layer as well as the title sticker.

And the phrase “You Are One Tough Cookie!” must have been made just for my son. He plays hard the entire game as he’s the goalie the first half and right wing the second half. Then he gives me and the washing machine our own work out getting out all those grass and dirt stains!
