Such Spooky Fun~

Making Pocket Letters!!

Really, they’re quite addictive.

This time around our little group made Halloween and Fall themed Pocket Letters to swap with a partner.

My Halloween Pocket Letter~

Halloween 2

I used mainly the My Mind’s Eye Mischievous Collection with a few added elements from a past Noel Mignon kit.

My favorite being that cute Boo! ghost tag from We R Memory Keepers.

I even tried something new and attached the Happy Halloween tag using an Action Wobble.

The back~

Halloween Back

In an effort to keep all the goodies I’m sending in place, I made gift card sized envelopes to stuff and slide in the pockets.

I have to admit that when it came to the Fall Pocket Letter I was a bit stumped at first.

Especially since I traded Fall Postcards last year to the exact same partner.

So, I went old school and┬ápulled out Bella Blvd’s Finally Fall Collection.

Happy Fall Y’all~

Fall PL

Simple yet adorable, I think.

And making me long for cool, crisp Fall days.

I used~

My Mind’s Eye Mischievous Collection, Noel Mignon Masquerade Kit Contents, Buttons, Ribbon, Sequins, Bella Blvd Finally Fall Collection, Twine, Fuse, Brother Scan N’ Cut, Action Wobble, We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board, Glaze Pen, Wink Of Stella, Button Maker for Halloween Flair

Love, love, love.

At a Pit Stop.

How do you like that?

We traveled to Williamsburg to watch Ashlyn and Holden compete in the Willam & Mary Invitational Cross Country Meet.

After being in the car for a bit we decided to stop and the rest area we chose was actually one of LOVEworks Around Virginia sites.

And that meant we HAD to take a picture!

My layout~

Now the only thing that could have made this better is if my wonderful, but iPhone challenged hubby could have gotten the complete LOVE sign in the picture.

Oh well.

It makes the moment that much more memorable, since I now have 15 pictures of Hartly and me at the LOV sign.

I followed the sketch provided for the Cricut Circle Weekend Challenge: Let’s Get Sketchy!

The sketch~

Circle Sketch 10132013

And I managed to stay pretty close to it.

A close up~

I used the Bella Blvd Snapshots collection which is perfect since this layout is all about capturing the love.

At a pit stop.

I used~
Bella Blvd Snapshots Daily Details and Borders Paper, Paper Pieces, Bookplates, Tabs, Sophisticated Peep & Saffron Letters, Lullaby Thickers,

Fall 2012 A Time For Thanks~

With Thanksgiving just around the corner I thought it was the perfect time to make a mini album dedicated to doing just that~ Giving Thanks.

I started with a pack of Celebrate small paper bags that I purchased at Michaels.

I like these bags because they’re just a tad bit nicer and heavier than the bags you find at the grocery store or Target.

Plus, they come in various sizes and colors.

To begin I used Scor-tape to adhere the portion of bottom of the bag to the bag itself.

Then I fold the entire bottom flap over and scored the edge.

You will need to work in pairs and can make your album as big or little as you want.

Once I had the number of pages I wanted taped, scored and ready I then lined them up so that I had my first and last pages and the pairs together.

This makes assembly so much easier.

I used Scor-tape to adhere the two flap portions together.

Then I taped the main bag portions together.

Make sure you use plenty of tape.

Attaching the bags gives you a large page with pockets and then a small page.

I love this since not only will you have tags to insert in the pockets, but you can also fill them with little mementoes.

Now the fun begins and you can decorate your pages with whatever paper you like.

I cut two pieces of chipboard just slightly larger than my bag to use as a cover.

For the spine area simply trim a piece of cardstock and attach the edges to both the front and back cover allowing room for the album to open and close.

Now my mini album is ready to be embellished and even better filled with pictures and memories.

Don’t hesitate to ask if you have any questions!

My completed album~

Cows That Type

Farmer Brown has a problem.

And Hartly has a favorite book about those silly cows and that troublesome duck.

We’ve all read this book SO many times that I think we can recite it in our sleep.

My layout~

I love that the chipboard letters have words on them that remind me of the typewriter font featured in the book.

And I also love that now I have to take the long way to school just to drive by the local dairy farm, so we can wave to the Moo Cows.

Sigh! Two year olds!!

I used~
Bella Blvd Ciao Chips Simply Simona Oyster, Sophisticates Black & White High 5 Alphabets, Hello Beautiful Cute Cuts, Washi Tape, Misc Red Paper

Guess We’re Sharing~

I am loving Instagram these days.

It makes taking and editing pictures a breeze.

Like this one of a certain little girl stealing my drink.

My layout~

I love the coloring I was able to get from using one of the Instagram filters.

And in case you were wondering the same little girl just ran off with my mid afternoon snack!

Wonder if I’ll lose weight if this keeps up?

I used~

Pumpkin Pickin’

Welcome to the Falling for Halloween Blog Hop.

Thanks for joining us to enjoy all the wonderful crafty inspiration for the Fall and Halloween season.

You should have arrived here from Diane .

If you missed the beginning of the hop, please go to Maria’s blog to start so you don’t miss any of the other wonderful projects.

The moment I first saw what could be done with the Papertrey Ink Shape Up Series Pumpkin Dies, I knew I had to have them!

Please check out Dani’s adorable Pumpkin Mini Album to see where I got my inspiration and ideas.

She’s the reason I stalked the Papertrey Ink website until these dies were back in stock.

The only problem is my Cuttlebug and I don’t really get along when it comes to using dies.

But, I thought this would be the perfect reason for us to try to work together.

And we did! Yippee!

My Mini Album~

I loved using the die to cut my pictures into matching shapes.

Not only are they adorable, but it makes creating a mini album a breeze.

I was able to get my Cuttlebug to cut both paper and chipboard by using the A plate, C plate, Die Shape, paper or chipboard and B plate combination.

And I will admit to cringing each and every time I ran the die through the Cuttlebug, since it sounded like something was breaking. Eek!

But, I think now that we’re getting along there will be many more shaped mini albums in my future.

Leave a comment here today and tomorrow for a chance to win the new Circut Create a Critter 2 cartridge.

A winner will be announced on Wednesday, October 10th. Good Luck!

Thanks for hopping by and be sure to stop by Michele’s blog next.

the perfect time to do nothing at all.

How I long for those carefree Summer Days.

They’re gone, but certainly not forgotten.

My layout~

I love this picture of Ashlyn.

She and her brother had been chasing Hartly around the yard and even teaching her how to roll down the hill.

And guess who got worn out?

Definitely not Hartly.

I used~
Bella Blvd Sunshine & Happiness Sunny Side Up and Happy Clouds paper, Alpha & Bits, Borders, Summer Flags, Pink Flower Buttons, Sophisticates Ciao Chips, Washi tape

My Happiness~

Is sitting right there.

My layout~

The bright colors and bold patterns of Bella Blvd are perfect for this layout of my parents and children.

I kept the embellishments simple since there’s so much going on with the patterned paper and that wonderful quilt cut.

I know I will be using that cut again and again.

And can I tell you how those little polka dot letters make me SO happy!

Almost as happy as finally getting a picture of all five of them smiling at the same time.

I used~
Bella Blvd Sunshine & Happiness Juicy Good Times paper, Ciao Chips Icons, Feminine Mix and Neutral Buttons, Yellow Chevron Washi Tape and Spring Flings & Easter Things Alpha Bits
White Cardstock

This Way to the Beach~

Sister’s glasses? Check.

Daddy’s hat? Check.

Inflatable hippo? Check.

Shoes on the wrong feet? Check.

Hartly is ready to hit the beach.

My layout~

We must have stopped ten times this day while making our way to the beach, because she wasn’t moving unless everything was just right.

It was hysterical, since everything kept sliding and falling off.

But, we made it to the beach.

I decided to dig into my Bella Blvd goodies for this layout.

I love how the new Bella Blvd embellishments can easily be mixed together with the older lines.

It makes my life easier.

And believe me with this little handful I need all the help I can get.

I used~
Bella Blvd All Inclusive Bella Bookin’ on the Beach, Blurbs, Bits a Bella, Oceanview, Bada Bings,Ciao Chips Simply Simona Brownie, Vacation Flags, Sunshine & Happiness Minatures

On a Summer Afternoon~

So My Studio Calico Trendspotting class assignment was on Sunbursts.

I love sunbursts!

I love them on cards, layouts and just about anything you can put them on.

However, this one has been a labor of love.

Each and every step presented itself with some type of issue. Sigh!

But, today Laura at Bella Blvd has a quick and easy tutorial to show you how to make your own fabulous sunburst.

I just wish I had seen this three days ago.

My layout~

I used CCR to elongate a basic triangle shape from George to make several of my ray shapes.

I then hand cut the rest to fill in my shape.

A close up~

I added a little rough stitching and several sticker embellishments.

In the end I love the total effect of the sunburst shape and bright colors reminding me of this Summer afternoon spent on my mother’s porch swing.

Although next time I do believe I will follow Laura’s instructions.

I used~
Bella Blvd Sunshine & Happiness Popcicle Kisses paper, Journaling Stickers and Miniatures, Baby Boy On the Go paper and various other Bella Blvd paper scraps, White Cardstock
