More Happy Little Moments~ Pages Two & Three

This has been a crazy week here in the Andrews’ household!

Which means I’ve only had bits and pieces of time to work on my More Happy Little Moments Book.

Of course, most of that has been spent on the multiple steps to alter my book cover.

After a coat of Gesso and two coats of Martha Steward Aquarium Pearl Acrylic Craft Paint it looks like this~

More-HLM-Cover

I’m glad I went ahead and painted it before adding my pages, because it turns out I’m heavy handed with paint too.

My second set of pages~

More-Page-2

I included a pocket page to hold several tags and one of the wonderful wood veneer cards that I backed with a photo.

My third set of pages~

More-Page-3

One thing I’m really enjoying with this mini album and class is simply playing around with the elements from the class kits and the weekly challenges.

This week’s challenge is to use Mister Huey’s to paint with, so I used it and the Martha Stewart paint on both pages.

I love the splashes of color they both provide.

And it makes my cover painting oppsies less noticeable. Love that!

My first pages have made it into the book~

More Happy Little Moments Class Kits by Maggie Holmes and Marcy Penner, Gesso, Martha Steward Aquarium Pearl Acrylic Craft Paint, Mister Huey’s Heirloom Blue and Pretty Pink, Mini Clothes Pin and Vellum

More Happy Little Moments~ The Beginning

My most favorite class ever is back! Yippee!!

It’s time for More Happy Little Moments with Maggie Holmes and Marcy Penner at Studio Calico.

This time I’m focusing my Happy Little Moments around our recent weekend trip to the beach.

And it’s not a happy beach trip unless we eat at our favorite breakfast spot, Citrus, at least once.

When we mention Citrus the smiles begin.

My first pages~

MHLM-Start

Now I know you’re wondering why they’re not in the book, but I think I got the ugliest book there was.

See what I mean~

MHLM-Book-Original

Yikes!

So, I need a bit of time to decide how I’m going to alter it.

Then I’ll simply add the pages.

I used~
Studio Calico’s Happy Little Moment Maggie Holmes Kit and Marcy Penner Kit
Studio G Sun Stamp Set, Studio Calico Stamp Set

One Fun Night!~

That’s what we had over Spring Break and especially after arriving at our hotel room in Raleigh, NC.

We finally delivered on our promise to take Holden to a NHL Hockey game which was no small feat with their strike shortened season this year.

I think the kids explored every drawer, closet, nook and cranny.

My layout~
One-Fun-Night

There was so much activity that I had to stop and take a picture.

And yes, Hartly spent plenty of time just hanging out in that closet.

I used Studio Calico’s Spencer kit for my layout.

I love that the energy from the arrow papers matches the energy that was in that room and picture.

I just feel sorry for the person who had to clean all those finger prints. Yikes!

I used~
Studio Calico Kit Contents~ Tim & Beck Paper, Studio Calico Big News Paper, Studio Calico 6×6 Paper Pad, Basic Grey Hipster Metal Studs, Hey You! Stickers and Chipboard, Iguana Thickers
Fancy Pants Envelopes, Etcertra Paperclips

This Is Me~ Part One

I know I mentioned the other day that I was taking the Amy Tan Mix It Up class, but I’m also taking Studio Calico’s This Is Me class with Lexi Bridges.

This class is all about making a mini album about the person that generally is the one behind the camera, the scrapbooking paper and embellishments.

Me.

First pages~

This-Is-Me-Page-2

I’m using a Studio Calico Handbook and inserts, so the pages inside are 8×6″ and have several different layouts.

Along with the class kit I’m digging into my October Afternoon stash.

And yes, I will be definitely be putting in my album just how much I LOVE classes. He he.

I used~
Studio Calico Chevron Handbook and Album Inserts, October Afternoon Sidewalks and Woodland Park Line and Eclair Thickers

& Baby Makes 5

Have you ever gotten a new stamp or paper and known just what you wanted to make with it?

That’s what happened with this month’s Studio Calico kit, Neverland.

I don’t know if it started with the Tim & Beck paper or the Today Is More Than Just a Good Day Stamp, but I instantly thought of the happiness of Hartly’s arrival.

So, I went straight to her pictures from the hospital.

My layout~

Baby-Makes-5

I love the colors and graphics in the Tim & Beck paper.

So much in fact I had a hard time covering it up.

I did add Crate Paper’s Maggie Holmes Ephemera pieces for layering.

I’m thinking I’m going to need another pack of those.

They are that fabulous!

And fabulous is just how this picture of Hartly holding Travis’s finger makes me feel.

I used~
Studio Calico’s Neverland Kit Contents: Tim & Beck, Studio Calico Sunsetter and Amy Tangerine Yes, Please Priority Paper,Stamps
Crate Paper Maggie Holmes Ephemera Pack, KaiserCraft Bluebell Blossoms, Jewelry Box Thickers, TH Tiny Attacher

Mommy Are We Best Friends?~

This is what Hartly leaned over and asked me while we were sitting together watching her favorite TV show.

I love this child!

And you know that I had to document this conversation, so I used it for my Studio Calico Bright Ideas Challenge #1 to use a stencil on a project.

My layout~

Best-Friends

I cut a Kerri Bradford hexagon pattern out of kraft paper and used ink to create my pattern flowing across the page.

Then I simply chose papers and elements from my Studio Calico kit that coordinated with my photo.

The Love You More stamp from the kit is quickly becoming one of my favorites.

I added a Dear Lizzy Chipboard mason jar filled with hearts, because I think my heart overflowed with love when she asked me this.

Have I mentioned I love this child?

I used~
Studio Calico February Kit Contents: Tim & Beck Paper, Cardstock, 6×6 Paper Pad
DCWV Textured Cardstock, TH Tiny Attacher, Studio Calico Love You More Stamp

2013 Project Life~ February 4th – February 12th

Did you know that March is almost here?

Yikes!

It has snuck up on me.

With moving into my new scrapbooking room I have fallen a bit behind in my Project Life album.

But, I am going to catch up!!

And making it easy to do are the new DCWV Tag and 4.5 x 6.5 Mat Stacks.

I am loving the colors, prints and decorative edges they have.

You & Me = Love~

And me too.

That’s what we kept hearing during our recent family photo session when we tried and tried to get pictures of just Travis and me.

But, there was someone who had other ideas.

My layout~

you&me=love

I thought this picture would be perfect for this week’s In The Mood To Scrap Challenge to create a scrapbooking project about you and someone you love inspired by any of the images in the ampersand mood board.

I love that this candid picture of us ended up being one of my favorites.

And while we’re focused on love let me just say I love this new class and it’s videos and mood boards.

Almost but not quite as much as the two pictured.

Even when they’re being obstinate.

I used~

Project Life 2013 ~January 5th – 12th

I know it’s only week two, but I’m loving working on this.

It helps that I’ve been taking Jessica Sprague’s Digital Project Life class.

You can find her class at http://www.jessicasprague.com.

Not only does Jessica take you step by step through each lesson, but she teaches you the ins and outs of Photoshop and provides you with lots of digital products.

Love that!

January 5th through January 8th~
DPL-2013Jan5-8web

My first page is mainly done using physical products, but I used Photoshop to add several digital elements to the photos.

My second page began as a full digital page.

My digital version~
DPL-2013-Jan6-11web

I was able to practice the lessons learned in class and am very happy with how it looks.

And of course, I just had to see what it would look like if I printed it.

Using white cardstock I was able to print it and then add a few other embellishments.

My printed version~
Project-Life-2013-8-12-web

Not to bad if you ask me.

I can’t say I prefer one method over the other or that one is quicker either, so I think I will be using both through out the year.

But, I will be purchasing some photo or presentation paper to print on in the future.

I used~
Becky Higgins Turquoise Core Kit Digital Edition, Clementine Core Kit
Studio Calico Wood Veneer Letters, Hearts and Arrows, Washi Tape, Studio Calico Open Me Stamp, Office Roller Date Stamp, Dear Lizzy Date Stamp

I’ve probably missed a supply or two, so if you have a question just ask.

December Daily ~December 26th – December 31st

I decided it was finally time to finish off my December Daily, so I printed my pictures last night and got busy.

The end of our December was not the most exciting, since the cold bug hit us hard.

In fact, I think I could have filled the week with pictures of tissues, thermometers and Mucinex.

But, what fun would that be?

Instead I chose the little and some big things that really stood out for me.

December 26th~
Dec-Daily-26

Getting yummy cookies in the mail from a great friend.

December 27th~
Dec-Daily-27

Finally getting to see my new doors and windows in place.

December 28th~

Watching Hartly and Ashlyn make cake pops.

December 29th~

And finally feeling well enough for us to get out of the house. Yippee!

I added a cover page using the clear sheets from the album and clustered several of the Studio Calico 25 Days class printables together.

And with that I am done. Yay!

There is nothing like the feeling of completing a project.
