My Two Beach Bums~

This is the very reason why I have been missing lately.

The family vacation to Myrtle Beach, SC and it’s aftermath.

In fact, I think I need a vacation after this past work week.

I guess for now I will be content with looking and working with all the vacation pictures I took.

My layout~

I tried and tried to get a similar picture to one of my favorites that I took last year of all three children.

However, this year it was a bit more difficult to get all three kids to sit still long enough.

But, I did manage to get these of Holden and Hartly.

I followed the Studio Calico Weekly Sketch and had every intention of entering it in the weekly challenge, but life got in the way.

If someone could explain to me how the house gets dirty when you’re not even home, I would greatly appreciate it. Sigh!

Let’s Take A Photo

Way over there.

Far, far away from those waves.

In fact I think the safest place for a picture is up by the pool.

My layout~

I wanted to use the Simple Stories Urban Traveler paper with it’s multiple arrows, since it reminds me of Hartly on the beach.

She goes left, right, up, down and just about any direction to avoid having contact with the water.

It’s hysterical.

While walking the beach the other evening Hartly even told us to “Watch out, the sharks will bite!”

Silly girl!

Project Life 2013~ July 2nd ~ July 5th

I know, I know.

It’s been FOREVER since I’ve worked on my Project Life.

I guess sometimes living life gets in the way of documenting life.

Oh well, I am back at it!

And that’s what counts, right?

Week of July 4th~

Our little family had quite the week.

Holden and Travis traveled to Boston to see a game at Fenway Park.

And to answer the question I know you’re dying ask…

Yes, my die-hard New York Yankee boys broke down and bought me a Boston Rob hat. Eeek!

I’m just not allowed to wear it around them.

We all met up at the beach where we enjoyed an extra long weekend of sand, sun and seafood.

We even squeezed into my parents SUV and traveled across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel for an adventure and dinner.

Let me just say Hartly loves tunnels and now expects one on every car ride.

But to be totally honest I think I enjoyed the close company even more.

Hopefully, I will be back soon with more of my Project Life from past weeks as I hope to catch up.

Just be expecting a lot of baseball and rain. Sigh!

More Happy Little Moments~ Pages Two & Three

This has been a crazy week here in the Andrews’ household!

Which means I’ve only had bits and pieces of time to work on my More Happy Little Moments Book.

Of course, most of that has been spent on the multiple steps to alter my book cover.

After a coat of Gesso and two coats of Martha Steward Aquarium Pearl Acrylic Craft Paint it looks like this~

I’m glad I went ahead and painted it before adding my pages, because it turns out I’m heavy handed with paint too.

My second set of pages~

I included a pocket page to hold several tags and one of the wonderful wood veneer cards that I backed with a photo.

My third set of pages~

One thing I’m really enjoying with this mini album and class is simply playing around with the elements from the class kits and the weekly challenges.

This week’s challenge is to use Mister Huey’s to paint with, so I used it and the Martha Stewart paint on both pages.

I love the splashes of color they both provide.

And it makes my cover painting oppsies less noticeable. Love that!

My first pages have made it into the book~

More Happy Little Moments~ The Beginning

My most favorite class ever is back! Yippee!!

It’s time for More Happy Little Moments with Maggie Holmes and Marcy Penner at Studio Calico.

This time I’m focusing my Happy Little Moments around our recent weekend trip to the beach.

And it’s not a happy beach trip unless we eat at our favorite breakfast spot, Citrus, at least once.

When we mention Citrus the smiles begin.

My first pages~

Now I know you’re wondering why they’re not in the book, but I think I got the ugliest book there was.

See what I mean~

So, I need a bit of time to decide how I’m going to alter it.

Then I’ll simply add the pages.

One Fun Night!~

That’s what we had over Spring Break and especially after arriving at our hotel room in Raleigh, NC.

We finally delivered on our promise to take Holden to a NHL Hockey game which was no small feat with their strike shortened season this year.

I think the kids explored every drawer, closet, nook and cranny.

My layout~

There was so much activity that I had to stop and take a picture.

And yes, Hartly spent plenty of time just hanging out in that closet.

I used Studio Calico’s Spencer kit for my layout.

I love that the energy from the arrow papers matches the energy that was in that room and picture.

I just feel sorry for the person who had to clean all those finger prints. Yikes!

I used~
Studio Calico Kit Contents~ Tim & Beck Paper, Studio Calico Big News Paper, Studio Calico 6×6 Paper Pad, Basic Grey Hipster Metal Studs, Hey You! Stickers and Chipboard, Iguana Thickers
Fancy Pants Envelopes, Etcertra Paperclips

This Is Me~ Part One

I know I mentioned the other day that I was taking the Amy Tan Mix It Up class, but I’m also taking Studio Calico’s This Is Me class with Lexi Bridges.

This class is all about making a mini album about the person that generally is the one behind the camera, the scrapbooking paper and embellishments.

My cover~

First pages~

I’m using a Studio Calico Handbook and inserts, so the pages inside are 8×6″ and have several different layouts.

Along with the class kit I’m digging into my October Afternoon stash.

And yes, I will be definitely be putting in my album just how much I LOVE classes. He he.
