Hello Mouse & Co. 2014~

And goodbye procrastination. He he.

I’ve decided that starting your former Disney vacation album right after you book your next Disney vacation might not be the best way to record all those memories.

So, I am a bit excited to say that I have officially started my Disney 2014 album.

My layout~

Hello Mouse 2014

I wanted everything to compliment rather than compete with my picture of Cinderella’s Castle taken when we first entered the Magic Kingdom, so I chose a textured paper and vellum prints from the DCWV Premium Paper Collection 5 Packs.

The Premium Paper Collection 5 Packs are filled with various types of specialty papers including textured, foil, vellum, burlap and laser cut papers.

A few close-ups~

Hello Mouse 2014 Close 1

Using a Mickey punch and several papers with different textures and finishes I was easily able to make my coordinating Disney embellishments.

If you’ve been to Disney lately, you know that you come home with lots of little collectibles like trading pins and even now your Magic Band, so I decorated a DCWV Kraft Nesting box to house some of Hartly’s little trinkets.

Hartly’s Mouse House~

Mouse House

With just a few bits, pieces and some washi tape her box was ready.

And since she also knows the Nesting Box set includes 11 more boxes that’s a good thing, because it looks like I’ve got more to make.

Oh boy.

I used~

DCWV Premium Paper Collection 5 Pack, DCWV Kraft Nesting Box Set, DCWV Insta Photo Fun Foiled Cardstock Stack
EK Success Mickey Punch, Enamel Dots, Simple Stories Say Cheese Die Cut Elements, October Afternoon Gray & Crème Mini Market, Root Beer Float Thickers, Washi Tape
Cricut Mickey & Friends for the large kraft Mickey head

Sara?

Knock, knock, knock.

Do you want to build an album?

Come on let’s document each day.

I never see you anymore.

Come out the door.

It’s like you’ve gone away.

We used to be best buddies.

And now we’re not

I wish you would tell me why.

Do you want to build an album?

Yes, I did go away~

Now I am back to our normal crazy family of five life and almost recovered from our Disney vacation and Thanksgiving.

The whole Frozen song thing….sorry, I couldn’t help myself.

I blame a certain little girl who now has me singing all the Anna parts while she sings all the Elsa parts.

Did I mention this is every time we are in the car?

Every single time.

And I think we watched this one too many times~

Elsa Sing A Long

And YES! I want to build an album.

I want to document each day in December, my most favorite time of the year.

I have all my December Daily goodies waiting for me.

I just need a bit of time to get organized and started.

I plan to mix items from the Ali Edwards December Daily Kit, the October Afternoon December Story Kit and my rather large Christmas stash.

If you’re looking for some fabulous printables including a December calendar or simply some inspiration, make sure you head straight to Marie’s blog.

I’ve got mine printed and ready. Thanks Marie!!

So, stay tuned…

Not The Big Cheese~

He might not be the Big Guy, but he is an Andrews’s family favorite…

Donald Duck.

However if you’re going by these pictures, he might not be the entire family’s favorite.

My layout~

Not-The-Big-Cheses

Hartly was a little less than thrilled to meet Donald.

But, the rest of us have a spot in our hearts for the temperamental yet totally loveable duck.

To coordinate with the Mickey images I’ve used on the other pages, I created a couple Donald silhouette images using my Cricut Explore and Mickey & Friends cartridge.

Must Be This Tall To Ride~

Being little at Disney means that every once in a while you’ve got to sit and wait.

Since You Must Be This Tall To Ride~

Must-Be-This-Tall

Fortunately that usually means a delicious Disney snack or maybe even a little shopping.

A close-up~

I used DCWV’s My Sunshine Stack along with various Simple Stories Say Cheese embellishments to create my little cluster surround the girls enjoying a little down time.

And the other thing you do a bit of at Disney is waiting in line.

Love-This-Waiting-Line

I love this picture of Hartly waiting for her turn.

Whatever it is we’re waiting on must be good, since it’s holding her attention.

A close-up~

Not only did I use the cut portion from my first page as the base for this layout, I simply flipped my embellishment cluster to mirror it as well.

Hello, Hey There!~

It’s Mickey Mouse’s best friend and favorite pal….Pluto!

Hello-Hey-There

And obviously one of our favorites too.

I find it hard to believe, but it’s once again a new month and time for the DCWV Stack-a-Holic Challenge.

This month Design Team Member Thomisia picked out a double page layout sketch. Yikes!

Sept 2014 layout

But, it just so happened to be perfect for all my puppy meeting pictures.

I continued to use DCWV’s My Sunshine Stack and love how well the colors coordinate with my pictures.

This time I added a few Mickey Silhouette cuts from the Cricut Mickey & Friends cartridge.

I hope you’ll join in this month’s DCWV Stack-a-Holic Challenge whether you do a double page layout, single page or card.

Just grab your favorite stack and get busy!

Here’s Trouble~

And I’m not talking about the big blue guy, but the little girl in the pink shirt. He he.

My layout~

Smile

This is my Super Stashbusters Challenge 6 Opt For Ombre: Create an ombre effect on your page using ink misters, papers, embellishments, trim or anything else you like.

I used graduating shades of blue patterned paper from DCWV’s My Sunshine Stack to create my ombre effect.

Then I added coordinating embellishments from the Simple Stories Say Cheese collection.

Look Who We Met~

Everyone’s favorite set of twin chipmunks….

Chip & Dale!

Those guys were definitely a bunch of characters.

Playing with Ashlyn’s hair, fist bumping Holden and playing peek-a-boo with Hartly.

Look-Who-We-Met

This pocket page sits opposite the Snack Time layout, so I used several of the same embellishments on a smaller scale.

A few close-ups~

The best part is Chip & Dale really charmed Hartly.

After playing around with them she was ready to meet all the other characters. Yippee!

All Smiles…Kind Of!~

Hartly loved the idea of meeting Mickey and Minnie Mouse.

Right up until it was her turn. He he.

Then it was a mild panic that there were two oversized mice near her. Ha!

My layout~

Hello-Mice

This was created for Super Stashbusters Challenge 5 Stamp It!: Use a fun stamping technique on your page.

I chose to use a set of Exclamation stamps to mimic Hartly’s reaction to Mickey and Minnie.

She started at a friendly hello, but quickly went to an OMG!

H Is For Happy~

Guess what makes me happy?

Finishing the first day of our 2011 Disney World Vacation. Woo hoo!

Just don’t ask how many more I have to go.

As you know I’m taking Aly Dosdal’s Super Stashbusters Class over at Big Picture Classes.

Challenge 4 is Color Me Happy: Create a layout with a color scheme that makes you happy!, so I did.

Best Day Ever~

Best-Day-Ever

Once again I used DCWV’s My Sunshine Stack.

I love, love, love the colors in this stack and how perfect they are for my Disney pictures.

I especially love the stripes particularly the blue ones.

I guess you could say they make me happy.

A few close-ups~

With Challenge 4 Aly provided a sketch that I liked so much I created a second layout.

H is for happy~

Mouse-&-Co

Have I mentioned how much I like polka dots?

They also make me happy just like these pictures of Ashlyn, Holden, Mickey and Minnie.

A few close-ups~

I finally dusted off and broke into my Simple Stories Say Cheese collection, since it goes so well with the colors in the My Sunshine Stack.

I think my teacher would be proud.

Best Seat Around~

For any parade is Daddy’s shoulders.

Especially when your Daddy is as tall as Travis is.

It’s just best for Daddy when you don’t cover his eyes. He he.

My layout~

Best-Seat-Around

This layout is for Super Stashbuster Challenge Three Repeat That Please?: Use a repeated pattern, design or element on your page.

I chose to use the leftover Mickey Heads from my previous Snack Time layout to create a repeating background for this one.

How’s that for stretching my stash?

Close-ups~

Best-Seat-Close-Up-1

Best-Seat-Close-Up-2

To create a bit of dimension to my background pattern I added miniature Mickey heads and enamel dots to each large Mickey.

It wasn’t until I was writing this post that I noticed I forgot the mini Mickey and enamel dot on the bottom left hand corner.

Don’t worry, I have gone back and added it.

Shew! That was close. He he.
