And who doesn’t like prizes?
Over the years I have made several seasonal wreathes to hang in our breakfast nook; however, my hubby has repeatedly pointed out that I have not yet made a Winter inspired one.
My wreath~
He can’t say that now. He he.
I used two prints from the DCWV Candy Cane Lane Stack to cut my poinsettia.
I wanted a vintage look to my flowers, so I used Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft® Butterscotch Gelatos to age them.
I used a paint brush to paint the Gelatos mixed with water onto the petals.
This was also the perfect time to shape my petals while they were damp.
Since this wreath is for Winter I thought it needed a bit of sparkle.
Okay, maybe a lot of sparkle.
I used Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft® Glaze to coat the petals and then sprinkled them heavily with Martha Stewart Coarse Glitter.
I will warn you that if you attempt this be prepared to have glitter everywhere.
Currently my craft room looks like Tinker Bell has been here.
Then it was simply a matter of hot gluing my flowers together and onto the wreath.
To add a bit more dimension and texture I embossed several petals cut from the DCWV Foiled Vellum Stack and added throughout the paper flowers.
A few close-ups~
I hope you will check out all the projects featured during the DCWV and Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft® Winter blog hop.

Hmm, I don’t know, I just like so much of it. Lights are awesome, love my 3ft reindeer I made a few years back, love all the fun things the kids have made. But I guess it’s just not Christmas w/o the stockings hung, so I’ll go with that.

Beautiful, beautiful wreath!!! Got to make some of those poinsettias WITH the glitter – it really set them off! …and yet another way to use the geletos! Thanks!!
My favorite Christmas decorations are a set of ceramic Christmas Carolers that are standing on a cobblestone looking street corner, complete with an old time looking street lamp that is lit with a flickering light. So peaceful & cozy to sit & look at after a hectic day of shopping!…
I love the rustic look of your wreath! Originally being a mid-west girl, it goes with any décor as far as I’m concerned! Glad your hubby’s finally happy, too! LOL!
