You know the saying… the early bird gets the worm.
Well, this bird got The Perfect Collection Class by Shimelle free when she signed up early for the Return To The Collection Class. Yippee!
You can find more information, layout ideas and The Cutting Guide on Shimelle’s Blog.
Since a bunch of new DCWV stacks just landed on my desk I thought it would be a perfect time to put one of those stacks to use.
I will be using DCWV Honey Chic stack as my collection.
I’m talking each and every print.
And it’s full of blues, pinks, greys and even a bit of black & white polka dots.
My first step was to gather all of the paper from the stack and divide them into three piles of journal card pages, pages to cut and pages I wanted to keep as 12×12’s.
Then it was simply a matter of cutting the paper following Shimelle’s Cutting Guide.
The idea is to have your paper cut and ready to use for your layouts as starting points.
I plan to add standard cardstock for my page bases and embellishments from Crate Paper’s Oh Darling and Boys Rule line to complete our 2013 Myrtle Beach Summer Vacation Album.
My title page~
Since this picture of the kids was taken on our first, cloudy and a bit rainy day of vacation I thought it would be perfect for the start of the album.
I love the look Ashlyn is giving me as I take the picture.
A close up~
Like there’s any chance of that happening with Hartly around.
A few close ups~
If you build it, she will destroy it.
It happens with each and every sandcastle built.
A close up~
And if she doesn’t destroy it, her big sister will.
I guess we all know where she learned that trick from.
I started working on this last night and already have a title page, a single page layout and a double page layout completed. Woo hoo!
Hmmm…maybe that Shimelle is on to something! He he.
