Welcome to the DCWV and Therm O Web Summer Lovin’ Blog hop.
Today, the design teams from DCWV and Therm O Web have brought together all the things we love about summer! We’ve combined paper from DCWV’s Sunday Afternoon and Everlasting Love stacks together with a variety of adhesives, mists and other fantastic products from Therm O Web!
If you came here from Erin at the DCWV blog then you’re on track! If not, head there first. You don’t want to miss a thing!
In my house with two fourteen year olds and a husband who teaches Middle School there is always a countdown to Summer Vacation.
It generally begins the first day of school. And no, I’m not kidding.
So, I thought I would play off of their countdown and borrow lyrics from the two who have perfected what to do on a Summer Day. . .Phineas and Ferb.
My layout~
The colors and patterns in DCWV’s Sunday Afternoon stack remind me of sunny days spent by the pool with it’s yellows and blues.
I also wanted to mimic the polka dots in both girls’ bathing suits, so I grabbed that polka dot paper from the Everlasting Love stack.
Isn’t that the wonderful thing about DCWV? You can mix and match them all.
I knew I wanted the 104 in my title to be an attention grabber.
So, I decided it was the perfect time to use all those sequins that have become so popular and keep jumping in my shopping cart.
However, I didn’t know how best to adhere them.
The Therm O Web iCraft Adhesive sheets were perfect for this.
I simply placed the sheet on my Cricut mat and made my cut.
My 104 Cut~
I then peeled off the bottom protective portion, placed it on my 104 paper image, peeled the top protective layer off and began applying my sequins.
By using the Therm O Web 3D Foam Squares I was able to lift the 104 from it’s shadow layer to draw even more attention to it.
A close up~
And of course, I couldn’t leave out the tag line from the show.
I used the Mini Sticky Tape Runner to adhere the individual sequins.
Now I’m sure there will be a big discussion amongst the three regarding the accuracy of 104 days of summer vacation, but that should keep them busy for a little while. Right?
Be sure to visit all the blogs today and leave comments for your chance to win! Two lucky readers will win a set of 3 stacks from DCWV. An additional reader will receive an amazing gift pack from Therm O Web! The more you comment, the more chances you have to win! How easy is that?
Now, head on over to Debbie’s blog to see what kind of Summer craftiness she’s created!
I used~

Studio Calico Sequins, Lindsay Thickers, American Crafts Ribbon
Therm O Web iCraft Adhesive, 3D Foam Squares, Medium Zots and Mini Sticky Tape Runner

I share a classroom with another teacher where we offer reading and math support to struggling kiddos and even though I love my job I must admit we have a count down up on our white board. It is just numbers but we know what those numbers mean. tee hee hee. For me it’s 24 days till crafting time. lol
