Definitely Duck Dynasty! I love making gift bags too and yours is fabulous
Congrats Josie!!
Several of you have asked how I made the bag from my last post, so I thought I would share.
This fabulous idea of using scrapbooking paper to make gift bags was taught to me by Sandie from the Cricut Circle.
She has some wonderful projects on her blog, so make sure you check it out.
To start you need to choose two sheets of matching 12×12 scrapbooking paper out of your ever-increasing supply.
Or is that just me?
You can use double-sided paper, but I did not.
First score the paper at 2″.
This will be the top flap and top of your bag, so make sure if you are using a print you have it going the correct direction.
Next turn your paper and score the other three sides at 3″.
Repeat for the second sheet of paper.
You should then cut the two 3″ corner sections to form the base of the bag.
For the second sheet simply cut the score lines at the 3″ mark to the meeting points.
Add a strong adhesive. I used Score-tape.
Align the two bottom portions and adhere.
Fold the top flaps down.
Fold the remaining sides in and the sides should slide into each other.
Secure with adhesive.
The two flaps inside the bag can be secured in either the up or down position.
However, I think the up position gives the bag more stability.
Punch holes for the handle. Add either ribbon or twine.
You can even add eyelets for additional support.
And there you go a gift bag!
Easy peasy!
Both of my bags were made using DCWV cardstock which I find to be incredibly sturdy and certainly pretty.
I used~
DCWV Foiled Elegance Stack and Foil Cardstock 6×6 Stack
Scorboard, Scor-tape, Twine, Fiskars Punch
I just love that bag!! Thanks for the tutorial….I will definitely try making mine instead of buying them at HL and adding decorations! Thanks for the prize too…so excited to win!!
Love love love your gift bag. Thank you for the directions.
I’m so happy you did the tutorial for the bag! Thank you! Congratulations Josie!
