December is not only filled with holiday get togethers for us, but both of my parents have birthdays.
Which of course means cake! Yum!
Actually, it means even more get togethers and a need for birthdays cards.
My Dad’s card~
I love, love, love the photo strip paper found in the October Afternoon Midway Collection.
It reminds me of pictures of my Dad as a teen, so I thought it would be perfect for his card.
The inside of my card said~ Smile! You’re still looking good.
And yes, it made him laugh.
My Mom’s card~
I love all the journal invitation cards found in the Cakewalk collection.
I used two on the outside of the card and a third as a pocket to hold a gift card.
The inside~
Then I made the 5.5 Mailer Box from Lori Whitlock to hold my card.
The box~
This box is fabulous and I plan on using it a lot in the future.
It seems I never know what to put my cards in to give since they don’t fit in standard envelopes.
The way this box is made it is strong enough to even mail.
Love that!
My Stash card~
Eva from the Cricut Circle Message Board sent me a special treat, the Webster Pages Sprinkles Box.
Since I had joined the Use Your Stash Challenge which meant we couldn’t buy anything for ourselves until the day after Christmas, she didn’t want me to go without and bought me one.
Isn’t she the sweetest?
To thank her for adding to my stash I made her a card using the Midway collection and I sent her a bunch of goodies for her stash.
So, that really shouldn’t count as breaking the rules.
Right?
I used~
October Afternoon Midway and Cakewalk Collection items including Paper, Buttons, Brads, Flower Sack, Chip n Stick, Label Stickers and Journal Cards
