Pumpkin Pickin’

Welcome to the Falling for Halloween Blog Hop.

Thanks for joining us to enjoy all the wonderful crafty inspiration for the Fall and Halloween season.

You should have arrived here from Diane .

If you missed the beginning of the hop, please go to Maria’s blog to start so you don’t miss any of the other wonderful projects.

The moment I first saw what could be done with the Papertrey Ink Shape Up Series Pumpkin Dies, I knew I had to have them!

Please check out Dani’s adorable Pumpkin Mini Album to see where I got my inspiration and ideas.

She’s the reason I stalked the Papertrey Ink website until these dies were back in stock.

The only problem is my Cuttlebug and I don’t really get along when it comes to using dies.

But, I thought this would be the perfect reason for us to try to work together.

And we did! Yippee!

My Mini Album~

I loved using the die to cut my pictures into matching shapes.

Not only are they adorable, but it makes creating a mini album a breeze.

I was able to get my Cuttlebug to cut both paper and chipboard by using the A plate, C plate, Die Shape, paper or chipboard and B plate combination.

And I will admit to cringing each and every time I ran the die through the Cuttlebug, since it sounded like something was breaking. Eek!

But, I think now that we’re getting along there will be many more shaped mini albums in my future.

Leave a comment here today and tomorrow for a chance to win the new Circut Create a Critter 2 cartridge.

A winner will be announced on Wednesday, October 10th. Good Luck!

Thanks for hopping by and be sure to stop by Michele’s blog next.

  1. Darling project!

I think I am going to have to stalk the PTI site for that die too. Glad you and your Cuttlebug worked together on this one because it is too cute.

Great photos, great colors, and such fall fun!

  2. Well heck! I now have these dies in a cart! Thanks for enabling… You know I’m a sucker for mini albums! LOL. This project looks wonderful! Must finishing buying before all these followers snatch them up!

  3. See, I knew you would post something incredible! This album is adorable! You have some really cute pictures of your kids here too. I love the one of the boy with a pumpkin on his head!

  4. FIRST… How is DH today? Hope better, for everyone’s sake! : D

Now that I have bought these dies…

Just need to confirm a couple things.

    1. I’m assuming this is the actual order that you used it in also?

    2. What type of chipboard did you use?

    • Hubby is good. Today he can finally sit up. Thanks for asking!

Yes, that is the layering I used.

I don’t have the name brand of the chipboard, but it’s medium weight and brown. I think it’s actually the protective piece sent with my Studio Calico kits to keep them from bending or wrinkling. See, I’m recycling!

  5. This is precious! The cover is perfectly ‘autumn’ and how clever to use ribbon for te stem! I love everything that you do… but this is so extra sweet. I think the way you photographed this project with the stony ground and your wonderful, vibrant pictures is just magical!

So glad you were able to get along with you Cuttlebug!

  6. I am a big fan of your work, it’s always inspirational and creative! I love the mini book and those pictures of your children are beautiful! What a treasure!

  7. Loved the mini album! I haven’t done one of these yet, but have had the same experience of running things through my cuttlebug and cringing as it creeks as it cuts or embosses!! Remembered such sweet times when my kids were younger at the pumbpin patch! TFS

  8. Sara, this is so, so cute! I’d never think it would have been so simple to make a mini album like that but you made it sound easy enough! You have inspired me to try one tonight!!!

  9. Great! I think I need this die as well. Can we all get together and order a mass quantity??? lol I love this little mini album, you have me thinking!!!!

  10. Oh my goodness! This is beyond adorable! And the photos looks like they were taken by a professional. I’m now a follower and I’ll be back often for more inspiration.

  12. I absolutely love this idea. I especially love how you made the photos full pages. That is very creative. The photos speak for themselves. I love this paper. I have bought it, but haven’t used it yet. You’ve inspired me.
