Summer Journey~

Today I finally got the kids to let me download the pictures from their trip to San Francisco with their Grandparents. Yes, we let them go clear across the country without us!

And thank goodness California didn’t decide to slide into the ocean while they were there.
Yes, I have many irrational fears. Don’t get me started on sharks and how San Francisco is located smack dab in the Red Triangle.

Anyway, I have to tell you that my son took a total of THREE pictures. Sigh!

But, Ashlyn had some of the most beautiful pictures I have ever seen.

So, I decided to start with the pictures she took while on the flight to California.

My layout~

Can you believe how clear they turned out?

And can you believe how wide awake she looks for getting up at 3:30 a.m.?!

I began with a picture of the beautiful blue sky filled with little white clouds and printed it as a 12 x 12 on textured white cardstock.

Have I mentioned how much I love my Epson R2000 printer?

I then added her self portrait, entertainment and snacks and what she thinks is the Grand Canyon. Hmmm…not so sure about that last one.

I thought this would be perfect for the Cricut Circle Weekly Challenge #60: Summer Lovin’, so I used A Child’s Year to cut the word Summer for my title.

And I definitely wanted to use the Studio Calico stamp of the United States and the You are Here stamp, so I cut a sun base from Create a Critter at 4.2″.

Now, if a certain young lady would only finish unpacking her suitcase…

I used~
Studio Calico So Cal kit contents: Tim and Beck paper and letter stickers, twine
Studio Calico More Paper Add on contents: Crate Paper Pretty Party Party Guest, Echo Park A Boy’s Life Magnetic
SC Wood Veneer airplanes, Mister Huey’s Pretty in Pink and Heirloom Blue, White cardstock
SC PL Adventure and Airmail stamps
A Child’s Life
Create A Critter

  1. Great idea to use one of the pics as the background paper! I AM NOT buying a 12×12 printer…no matter how much you tell me you love yours ; ) !! Tell Ashlyn that I’ll take pics of the Grand Canyon & we’ll see if they match LOL! Another great layout!

  2. Wonderful photos, Ashlyn! I love how the photos you took are used for the background paper and the featured images! Your mom did a fabby job with this one – the sun and the map is perfect!

  3. Adorable. Love the layout – your daughter is so pretty, too. What a fantastic memory and great way to scrapbook it. Love the printed photo/paper.
