I’ve decided that I’ve GOT to start using my scrapbook kits instead of just collecting them. So, I used the Studio Calico Sunday Sketch and my February kit to make this layout. I even managed to meet the Cricut Circle Weekly Challenge guidelines, too. Yay me!
The littlest will be turning two in just over a week. YIKES! I think she is beginning to adopt some of the Terrible Two traits now. Double Yikes!!
The other evening she decided it was time for a snack even though we had just gotten up from the dinner table. She kept going to the pantry and grabbing the Goldfish bag which we quickly took away from her. After the fifth bag she looked around, found a safe spot and carefully laid down to begin her mini temper tantrum. It was hysterical!
Of course, I went running for my camera.
When I opened my kit I was drawn to the Studio Calico Love Letter paper with it’s black and white hearts and the American Craft Cardstock in Ash:Weave or what I consider grey. I thought both would look great with black and white pictures, so I used Photoshop to change my pictures and to print my journaling directly onto my 12×12 paper. I used Elegant Edges to cut the grey and red papers at 6.5″ and 7.21″ I thought the red paper and elements would pop off the page and add some contrast.
I used Mister Huey’s Warm Calico to color the American Craft letters black. And yes, I made a mess. They look great and were worth it. I substituted the letter “o” in not with a heart cut from Plantin Schoolbook at 2.85″. I pop dotted it and covered it with Black Diamond Stickles.
I think my layout turned out pretty cute, but I’m proud of the fact that I used Photoshop for several elements. I opened and used a kit. I completed two challenges. And I used Mister Huey’s with collateral damage only to my hand!
So, I AM happy!
