A Circle Friend invited me to join her as her lab partner for Jessica Sprague’s Scrapbook Alchemy Episode One. It sounds like we should either being wearing lab coats and safety glasses or possibly a new Star Wars movie, doesn’t it? Thanks Donna! I really appreciate the invite.
I learned a lot about how to use Photoshop during this beginner’s class for hybrid scrapbooking. So a big thanks to Jessica too! Considering how I didn’t even know how to load my pictures into PSE and I now have a completed layout, I think she is a wonderful teacher. For the class Jessica takes you step by step to digitaly create a layout using three pictures, changing two to black and white, adding a title and border directly onto your pictures and creating the journaling. Through the class you receive a sheet of red digital paper and two fonts.
I tried to stay as close to her dimensions and layout guidelines as possible. While it’s not exactly the way I would normally place pictures, it’s cute.
One thing I did was to print a 12×12 sheet of the red digital paper on white cardstock. I needed and wanted to tie that red color in from the journaling box. A feature that I absolutely love is PSE can match colors from your digital images perfectly with a little click of an eyedropper. So cool!
Yes, it’s a little wonky. It gives it character.
Pay NO attention to the very messy desk! But here is my finished product. As you can see I did use different elements to make it a little more ME!
I think I’m going to like this hybrid scrapbooking. If for no other reason than I can buy all the supplies I want without the physical evidence of boxes!!
