Backyard Fun

I just love this picture of my children with their cousins at the last year’s Easter Egg Hunt. I know they are not posed and smiling for the camera, but there is so much fun in seeing them interact with each other. Plus, the colors of the grass and trees remind me Spring will be here soon.

Bella Blvd’s challenge for Wednesday was to use patterned paper as an embellishment. Recently I picked up a Butterfly cut and emboss folder for the Cuttlebug which I thought would be perfect for this challenge. The only problem is I have NEVER had any success using my Cuttlebug with cutting dies. The only thing I could ever cut is my B plate! But, this weekend at the retreat Laura, Circle member and seated next to me, taught me how to use it! Yippee!

Look how beautiful they turned out~

I even challenged myself to use cream thread to hand stitch the butterfly trail.

I used~
Bella Blvd’s Plastino Trellis paper, Trellis Label Additions, Plastino Forget Me Nots paper, Sweet Celebration Stardust paper, Cream Cardstock, Cream floss, Perfect Pearl Mist
Letter Envy Font for the crest cut at 6.5″ I embossed this cut with the Script embossing folder.
CTMH Art Philosophy for the flowers cut at 2.25″

I have to say that I just love these flowers and can’t get enough of them. They are so easy to make!

Now that I’ve worked on these Spring pictures all I can think about is warm weather, sunny days and Easter candy. Hurry Spring!

  1. OMG!!! Those flowers are out-of-this-world GREAT…they look like icing flowers (which might be my very favorite flowers of all time!) !!!
